Last minute help needed for 13yo dd!

Have exhausted all present ideas for my 13yo dd, and thought I'd given enough ideas to my parents for her as well, but apparently those ideas aren't going to work out. I'm all out of inspiration now, feel like we've done all of the ideas before/someone else is doing something similar etc. I need help!!!

Budget is around £40 (could go up to £50 max). She isn't into make-up and is quite fussy about clothes. They don't want to give vouchers. Main hobbies are dance/drama but she doesn't really need anything in relation to these. She is also getting theatre tickets etc from someone else, so probably not that. She has most of the tech that she might want. I'm so stuck!

Any suggestions? TIA!

Something for her bedroom; a soft throw, new duvet cover, lamp, rug.
An Alexa, currently in the sale so could be doable for £50.
A portable, waterproof Bluetooth speaker.
Ugg slippers.
Pjs or dressing gown.

Emilydickensonsdogs · 21/12/2018 19:05

Ha ha just noticed your name, maybe you have an Alexa!

17caterpillars1mouse · 21/12/2018 19:07

Big lush gift box
A few paperback books
Scented candle for her room, or things like a throw or some kind of cool lights
Dressing gown, Pjs and slippers
Nice watch

4point2fleet · 21/12/2018 19:09

yuyu hotwater bottle
back pack
baking equipment
lovely pens

Findingdotty · 21/12/2018 19:11

Wireless headphones.
DVDs...box set?
Manicure set, or manicure voucher
Dressing gown or fleece blanket (my DD is obsessed with her one)
Cookbook
Phone case/tablet/iPad Case

AlexaShutUp · 21/12/2018 20:14

Thanks so much for all the suggestions - definitely all on the right track! She has an alexa already, and we did up her room a year or so ago. Unfortunately, it's quite a small room and there isn't much more that we can fit into it.

She got wireless headphones last year (loves them!) and could probably open a stationery shop with all of the lovely pens that she possesses! I have bought her a backpack!

Fluffy dressing gown was the suggestion that isn't really working out...my parents say they can't find one that they like! Perhaps I'll have a look myself and see what I can find. Will also investigate yuyu hot water bottles, never heard of them. Smile

Thank you all for the ideas, and if you have any more, please keep them coming!

Oops, meant to ask - the baking equipment is a great idea, but any suggestions as to what?

Fjallraven Kanken Backpack

RitaTheBeater · 21/12/2018 20:36

I’m getting my twelve year old a breville waffle maker. It was £30 on amazon.

4point2fleet · 21/12/2018 20:36

Maybe some silicone cupcake moulds, a cupcake stand and a cupcake icing book?

Sadik · 21/12/2018 20:38

Good teen cookbook (eg one of the Sam Stern ones), nice apron, couple of good quality knives?

Sadik · 21/12/2018 20:40

Inspired by the waffle maker, what about a toastie maker if you don't have one

WhoGivesADamnForAFlakeyBandit · 21/12/2018 20:41

Mini fridge?

IggyAce · 21/12/2018 20:42

Baking equipment a nice muffin tin, mixing bowl, cake cases (Aldi have some lovely muffin cases) get a packet cake mix my dd loves the Betty Crocker chocolate fudge cake one. Apron and a nice cook book, my dd often uses Nigellas domestic goddess.
Or there is a baking subscription that’s been mentioned before on mn but can’t remember it’s name.

Chocolateismynemesis · 21/12/2018 21:00

My 13 year old DS is also getting a waffle maker Rita Grin

StoorieHoose · 21/12/2018 21:02

To be fair your parents don’t need to like the dressing gow your daughter is the one who will wear it. Fat Face have really nice ones

Chocolateismynemesis · 21/12/2018 21:04

DD (11) is getting this dressing gown OP and I’m a little bit jealous - it’s gorgeous. It’s not fluffy - it’s velvety and soft and I could stroke it all day. Would your DD like something similar? There’s also a pale blue version

Kazplus2 · 21/12/2018 21:06

Silver earrings from Pandora.

reluctantbrit · 21/12/2018 22:15

Fitbit style? DD gets one which is around £30.

I never let my mum/PIL buy clothes or similar for DD, their style will clash, can she look up one she loves and you send them the link?

Books or audiobooks?

Earrings or if she wears them The Little Book of Earrings to store them?

Magazine subscription?

Lovemusic33 · 21/12/2018 22:17

My teenage daughter loves her dressing gown which I bought from next a couple years ago, it’s really soft and has forest animals on it. This year she wanted a rainbow fluffy blanket. Also got her a sloth hottie (wheat bag thing), a giant toblerone and PJ’s. Her main present is a Nintendo switch so most of her other presents are things she need, she’s getting some clothes but just basics.

I bought the dd’s a waffle maker last year, we have used it a handful of times and they kind of lost interest.

Lovemusic33 · 21/12/2018 22:20

Bakedin is the baking subscription (baking kit each month).

mishgs · 21/12/2018 22:21

Bath bombs? Lush do some nice Christmas gift sets. My friend's 13 year old daughter loves these. Good luck!

Amazonian27 · 21/12/2018 22:35

Onesie, dressing gown, lava lamp, voucher for favourite shop, cinema voucher, fairy type bedroom lights, earrings, chilly water bottle (expensive but nice), phone case, hairdryer, jeans, hoodie, nomination braclet.

silentcrow · 21/12/2018 22:44

Does she read? The Fairyloot subscription box is lovely for fantasy fans, or Wildest Dreams for slightly cheaper and contemporary books. You can get both as a one-off or longer-term subscription. Subscription to Birchbox if she's a make-up fan.

My 13 is pretty much getting books, clothes, some music, and equipment for drawing manga. And a framed print of her favourite cartoon strip.

jessstan2 · 21/12/2018 22:46

Has she been asked what she wants?
