Wrong name on card

Aibu to be annoyed that a lifelong friend of husband has for two years running got my name wrong on christmas card. Husband has know him for almost all his life and I have met him and his family numerous times. They even stayed over with us several years ago. We're friends on facebook so he has seen my name. It's not unusual.. unless Carol is confusing... he called me Carlow.. which is a county and town in ireland... not a person's name. Confused. P.s. we do not live in Carlow....

I wouldn't get too upset, I have a friend (20+ years) who can mis-spell my name when replying to me on FB. Grin Maybe the sender is about to address another card to someone in Carlow?

Dyslexic?

Drunk when they wrote their cards?

FWIW, I’ve got an often mispelled name. It doesn’t bother me anymore.

I’m guessing that they wrote it down (dodgy handwriting) when they first met you (I do this as I have an appalling memory sometimes) and they have assumed that’s how it’s spelled now. Kind of like a reverse of me knowing someone called Deborah but pronounced Deb-oar-ray which I would have spelled incorrectly knowing the pronunciation. They may know to pronounce you ‘Carol’ but have got an historically wrong spelling in their address book

Every time I see a card or letter from someone I've known for 45 years, the refrain in my brain begins "no c, no fucking c"
I just know there is going to be a superfluous C secreted away in the middle of my name.

I’m thinking he probably has issues with spelling rather than not knowing your name...

I threw away a card to mr and Mrs jones last year as I had no idea who they were. This year I accidentally opened one addressed to them. It was from my aunt. Our surname is not jones.
