I couldn’t find any I liked online and had leftover bits from this years wreaths. What is it missing? I can’t put my finger on it but I have another 7 to make yet and want to figure it out before I get in the swing of it.

Very creative.

Greenery? A sprig of holly or a spike of rosemary?

HoHoFuckingHo · 21/12/2018 11:25

You’re right. Something green. Will have to look out for a bit of holly I think. Sure we have some growing out the back somewhere. Benefit to living in a tiny hamlet next to a wood I guess.

I have some homemade ones, using raffia. Don't over think it, if you saw even your 'failures' in a craf5 shop, you would£ like them. Enjoy.

Thanks Finally. It’s rained all day so was too muddy to get into the field. Shipped some bits of a spare garland I haven’t used this year and I’m fairly happy with the result. Tbh I knit and sew and get quite crafty with this sort of thing a lot but I’m so critical of my own stuff. Also massively sleep deprived due to 10 wk old DD and first Christmas me and DH haven’t been working for or are home at all for and the first one we are hosting. Barely any time these days for crafts at all Grin anyways here is the result

Oh they are lovely! Well done, bet they smell amazing!

FlyingMonkeys · 22/12/2018 03:25

Aww they're lovely! I'm definitely not crafty and admire it in others. Are you doing white or red napkins? I think white linen would be stunning, and possibly add an old style luggage tag attached with twine, and script in fountain pen ink for name placings to finish them off?

Chottie · 22/12/2018 04:03

Rosemary sprigs would be a lovely addition too.

I love the idea of old parcel labels for names :)

HoHoFuckingHo · 22/12/2018 09:12

I have white linen to really make it all pop, and you should just be able to see the luggage tags in the background there on the second pic. Parker fountain pen at the ready. My school as a child actually made us write in fountain pen as the head mistress was quite old fashioned so I love getting it out at any chance. It’s all very nostalgic. They just feel so nice and weighty in the hand. Always end up covered in bloody ink though because I’m the worlds biggest clutz Grin
