Scooter for 6yo - Sprite or Razor or ?

I'd like to get 6yo DD her next scooter, since she's outgrown her Mini Micro. She's tall and has good balance (loves scooters and bikes) but she doesn't do stunts/tricks.

The Micro Sprite is the 'obvious' next step, but I've also seen good reviews of Razor scooters, especially the A5 - although that does sound like it's recommended more as a stunt scooter. And both have varying suggested ages - some reviews say from 5yo, others say from 8yo.

I think she'd prefer a 2-wheeled scooter, since it's an obvious step up - and would go faster! - but open to being persuaded!

What do children move on to at age 6, and what has worked well/less well for you?

Realised a bit last-minute we should really look at this for Christmas!

Many thanks in advance.

We had a mini micro when DD was little which was fab. She moved to a 2 wheel scooter at age 4, we got a cheap Decathlon one. It wasn’t great really. For her 6th birthday this year I got her a secondhand Micro Sprite which was in fantastic condition. It is great, so much quieter than the cheap scooters, handles great, lovely quality in terms of parts and paintwork. They are expensive new but Micro do last. I did look at buying a new Razor but general feedback was that the Sprite was better. Maybe try and find a secondhand one?

Maxi micro? My nearly 8 year olds love theirs.

DD got a Sprite for her 5th birthday and almost 2 years later it's still going strong. It's quiet, runs smoothly and DD will happily scoot for miles on it. Well worth the money.

My dds both got a Sprite for their 5th birthdays, and they are great (much faster than a maxi micro, and the fold up for storage which is handy). Dd1 has had hers nearly 3 years and it is going strong and she uses it a lot.

I think you guys have persuaded me that the Sprite is the right choice!

@Paddington - I've definitely already seen with bikes that heavier, cheaper versions are a false economy if the child finds it hard to use and so doesn't!

And it's very reassuring to know that your similar aged children have been happy with the Sprite - I got worried at the reviews that said 8+

Are the coloured ones or the silver ones more popular? I think DD would like a coloured one, but since it will last her for a good few years I wouldn't want to get one which is later seen as too young.

The secondhand one we got is a limited edition, brightly coloured with owls on it.
