Cheese people! I need to tell you about these biscuits. They are my new holy grail of the cheese board. So divine.

Now for the perfect chutney (that doesn’t taste of raisins in malt vinegar...)

Oh no...I have till 2330 to amend my Waitrose order ahead of arriving tomorrow and so was doing so well...Grin

I do have a lot of cheese on it though so prehaps I do need some more biscuits to even it out?! Hmm

PersonaNonGarter · 18/12/2018 20:29

You do really need these biscuits. DH and I have only just discovered them. I said I was going to post about them on MN and he wouldn’t let me until I’d bought some more ‘in case Mumsnetters buy them all up’.

HmmGrin

We've had these and they are DIVINE!

Bleu d’Affinois cheese from Waitrose is my favourite cheese. I also love goats’ gouda, also available from Waitrose.

I adore their nigella seed biscuits. They are thin and hexagonal shape, and the flavour is divine!

PersonaNonGarter · 18/12/2018 22:43

This is the chat I need!

Hexagonal nigella seed biscuits and both those cheeses will be on my list. Sadly I am not in Waitrose very often but I will make a detour.

DH has got me some pickled figs for my stocking. He keeps dropping hints. He got them for me last year and they are amazing with blue cheese.

The cheese should always be the hero.. so just water biscuits here.

Oh but celery, ewwww.

We are in France just to annoy cheesy people. (that said the UK has some lovely cheeses which I miss). We will have Epoisse, Camembert , Comte, (all with unpasteurised milk), Stilton and Roquefort. Maybe Liverot. Not a huge selection , just what we like. Served with onion confiture and fig confiture and walnuts. Either bread with nuts and fruit or oatcake type crackers. Maybe not served altogether as that would be an indulgence I couldn't support even at Christmas.

Lovely as cheese is here, I do miss a good, strong proper cheddar.

Bump🎄🤣

I am about to go out to the cheese shop near my office.

DD bought comte last night, that won't even make the weekend I am guessing, but I am leaving that off my list.

She also bought a Carrigaline with garlic and herbs (or maybe we got the original in the end, I can't remember) on Tuesday night.

Stilton, and maybe a tiny bit of Shropshire blue.

Something nice and creamy - a good brie, or camembert, or something that will be perfectly ripe by 24th to open.

1 more harder cheese - I already have Cornish Cruncher from M&S as a strong cheddar, and DD got the comte, so something that tastes nice when I get a few slivers of different things.

DH is already going mad at the "Christmas Fridge" (I bought a full ham on Tuesday as well, first time doing that, and it takes most of the meat drawer)
