What are you all getting your 6 year old boys? Grandparents keep asking and I’m a bit stuck.. we don’t need anymore Lego!

HairyToity · 15/12/2018 08:17

Smart watch?

whenwillthetwitchstrike · 15/12/2018 08:36

DS is having a

  • cheap Fitbit thing
  • a new football
  • some football cones
  • a table tennis net to attach to the dining table and bats (I can already see this going horribly wrong!)
  • a snorkel & mask
  • lego (from grandparents)
  • tickets to a show (other grandparents)
  • home made voucher for crazy golf, an ice cream & trip to McDs (Uncle)
  • rush hour game (other uncle)

All will be opened on Xmas Day and will hopefully be a nice mix of things to do on the day and longer term entertainment

mnahmnah · 15/12/2018 08:39

We too have a 6yo DS. In the entertainer they had a tank you grow insect eating plants in. Venus fly traps etc. They were only about £6. So we got one of those.

A Harry Potter wand. Obsessed at the moment. The Lego too, but that’s no use to you!

Books - history, science

Minecraft toys

Magic set

Science kits - make your own robot, potions etc

Brain box games, dobble is great

SatsukiKusakabe · 15/12/2018 08:57

7 year old here - remote control car, football rebounder for garden, big toy dinosaur.

More lego

Toy cars (uncle)

MimsyBorogroves · 15/12/2018 10:02

In our house, a science kit (a proper one, not just a kitchen cupboard one) and more lego. We have enough to build an actual house, but it's his number one toy.

hidinginthenightgarden · 15/12/2018 11:59

I am having the same problem.
From us ds(6) is getting science books, knex, snap circuits, some board games and a rubix cube.

DelurkingAJ · 15/12/2018 13:24

I feel your pain.

Family are getting him pop up football goals, a Kids Pop CD, a case for his Kindle Fire...

Hits in the past have included games like Junior Cluedo and Monopoly Deal, Snap Circuits, a craft box which was a Realky Useful storage box containing a range of all purpose craft things and Lego, so much Lego!

drspouse · 15/12/2018 13:31

My DS is getting a Bluebot.
Also Roald Dahl audio books, and a penguin watch.
Felt tips and Okido magazine in his stocking.

drspouse · 15/12/2018 13:32

Snap Circuits is very popular here too.

Anyway, he has:

Bbq party game
Crafting materials
Magformers
A grimms wooden rainbow
A wooden happy meal/fast food set
A shopping trolley (his specific request!!)
A pick up truck (again, his request!)

He's got the usual books, clothes, stocking fillers and food treats to go along with it.

drspouse · 15/12/2018 22:40

Is it in stock on eBay?

Igottastartthinkingbee · 15/12/2018 22:40

DS main present is Lego but otherwise he’s getting a spy kit, books, sequin colour change T-shirt, pottery set (a priority on his Santa list!), robo alive dinosaur, refreshers flavour shower gel, a big squishy soft toy and a few other little things. Other people are getting him ghostbusters playmobil, science kit, onesie, craft stuff.

I've got him these as his main pressie. Really excited to have a go myself actually.

And this which is like a tight rope:

Again should be fun to have a go.
