Hosting - what do people drink?

I'm having a pre Christmas family get together at the weekend. I think I have the food sorted, but what drinks do I get?

DH doesn't drink beer, so I have no idea what brands to go for. What drinks would you like to have? Quantity ideas for 9 adults and 8 children?

I'd be asking them to bring their own!!! I have a House night once a month with friends. Who ever hosts provides the food, and who's going provides the drink.

Mulled wine or cider for adults, and a non-alcoholic version for kids?
Depends what food you're doing and what time of day, also how many people expecting alcoholic drinks.

IT would depend on how smart an affair it was. If it’s informal then maybe a nice white. Sauvignon is popular. Around 6 bottles. A burgundy maybe - slightly less so four bottles. Children I’d just do maybe a sparkling apple juice, water or if teens, J2Os.
A more formal affair I’d use Champagne about 8 bottles.
If they are beer drinkers I’d have some bottles of Perroni. About four per beer drinker. Maybe a bottle of gin, some Feverfew and ice ascan alternative.

That said, for an afternoon affair I’d just serve tea probably. If they’re family ask them what they’d like, maybe? I suspect most will being something anyway.

Peroni is a safe choice and a couple of bottles of red and white plus soft drinks and lemonade in case of shandy requests. I always forget MIL likes a shandy. And yes, ask people to bring a bottle!!

I would have prosecco at Christmas. A glass of something festive when they arrive and they can bring anything else they want.

Depending on how much you want to spend g&t always popular

Agree peroni safe choice

I agree Peroni or San Miguel.
It depends whether you have any big drinkers but I'd maybe budget for 5 drinks each plus a few extras.
