Hi!

Struggling with DS this year. He wrote a list last month but has since had his birthday so a few things went on that, he's bought one item with birthday money and the main present he asked for isn't happening now ( as he got something in its place for his birthday!!)

Ideally I'd like something around £30-40 mark, something that would wow him?! He loves reading ( in particular Harry Potter), watching you tube, football, cooking and drawing.

Current buys have been very HP themed and a football top of his favourite team. He got membership to the fan club for his birthday.

He wouldn't want clothes ( I have got him a couple of HP items), doesn't need a bike etc. Has an Xbox but isn't so keen on it enough to be wowed by a new game!!

What doesn't help is that his 15 year old brother has some really "cool" presents ( not as many as much more expensive) which makes DS2's presents look abit rubbish Confused

I'm stuck for ideas. What are you buying for your 10 year old?

DS loves drawing/art as well and one year we got him some grown up looking art stuff from The Works - paper, paints etc. Didn't cost a lot. He has also had a set of art stuff he that can be packed up and taken on holiday etc.

Board games? Especially if themed to Harry Potter or football.

We get a few catalogues turn up that DS circles stuff in, this is a big help as he also has birthday close to Christmas so we need loads of inspiration. Best ones for us are BrightMinds and the Happy Puzzler. Both usually only stock decent stuff.

I feel like I'm recommending this on all the boys gift idea threads and really I just got the idea from another poster who I've now forgotten Blush but hydraulic robot arm? I have a strong suspicion it will be DS2's favourite gift this year!

A science kit - with lots of cool looking chemicals, a telescope, a microscope - kind of a theme here. We even bought dd a lab coat (school supplier online) to go with it - she quit science Confused

I've bought mine the Tom Riddle diary that comes with an invisible ink pen and a UV wand to reveal the writing.
