Help - ex in laws/GPS gift

My ex in laws - my DCs grandparents aren't really involved and just send card and presents for their birthdays and Christmas- no real contact (their choice but probably down to laziness). Only see them once a year if I take them. My DC are teens and I've always sent their GPS a present so I am doing the right thing by my DC. - this will stop when they get older. Anyone got any ideas of a cheap present I could send? They live 500 odd miles away. Have looked at Bunches/Bloom and wild etc but still pricey. Am skint but do want to send something. Preferably less than £20!!

What a shame they’re not more involved, you’re very good to make the effort to send a gift on your DCs behalf and maintain contact / good will. You are being the bigger person! If you are sending a gift, have you thought about a personalised calendar from somewhere like Photobox with photos of DC? Should come in under £20 .

Thank you, I don't know if their new DIL would let them display that to be honest - lots of back story!! I usually send them a photo with their card and WhatsApp them back to school and birthday photos. If we go up to see them I would take their present but am really busy with work and can't fit it in, nor the time to make/do something creative!! I do feel a bit sorry for them in some ways but all pissed off with them as GPS. A tricky one!

Personally I would just send a nice card and photo, that's perfectly acceptable

Could you send a plant? A fruit tree or nice rose bush? Or a decoration for the tree, something memorable but without your children’s picture in so as not to cause friction with the new dil. You can get lovely crystal decorations x

Freddie’s flowers! If you use my code they’ll be free so won’t cost you a penny

How about a nice tree decoration? With something lovely engraved from your DCs. Below is on Etsy.

@jocktamsonsbairn yes it quite easy. If you look at their t&c it says just to get in touch and they’ll close the account.
