Hi, can anyone please explain the game? I've googled it as I've seen on here it's a popular choice but can't find an explanation of the actual game other than its cards!
We have DS18, DD 11 & DS8..... Is it suitable?!
Thank you!

I nearly bought it for my kids, as dd has been asking for it.
She is 13, and from what I have heard, it soudns perfect for your age range, although I think a certain amount of hilarity helps as you play.

I've just googled explodign kittens and it took me straight to a simple youtube video showing you how to play

Its a lot of fun and very suitable for younger players as long as you dont get the NSFW pack which is themed for adults.

BluthsFrozenBananas · 07/12/2018 11:54

We’ve had it since DD was 9, perfectly fine for that age range although I think there is a NSFW edition so make sure which set you’re buying.

It’s a card game which is a combination of strategy and luck. It’s one of those games where you can be quite evil to other players, stealing their good cards and forcing them into potentially losing situations.

Oh yes the NSFW stands for Not Suitable For Work

Question about exploding kittens - put it in more than one chat as not sure where it should go!
When you play a defuse card, you reinsert the exploding kitten card. Do you then take a card from the pile top end your turn?

tickingthebox · 28/12/2018 19:38

no, because you have already taken a card - the exploding kitten....

I bought it for dd but still struggling to get to grips with it. Apparently you can't run out of cards but she did because the last card she played was an action card that tells you not to draw another card?!

So confused Xmas Confused

I find it really boring, am I missing something? I've only played it with myself and dd so am wondering whether it's better with multiple players.

My DC loved it (we've had it since they were 11 and 13). The like the amusing cards and artwork and being "mean" to each other.

Basically everyone starts with a Defuse card and 4 other cards. You then put the remaining Defuse cards and 1 less Exploding Kitten card than there are players into the deck.
On your turn you can play one or many cards. You then carry out any actions on the cards. If you play a pair of matching picture cards, the action is to "steal" a card from someone else.
You then draw a card from the deck.
If it's an Exploding Kitten then you die, unless you have a Defuse card.
If you have a Defuse card, you play it and put the Exploding kitten back in the deck in a place of your choice.

So the game will always end with an Exploding Kitten being drawn and the penultimate person being exploded. If you ended up in a different way, you probably started with the wrong number of Exploding kittens or didn't put one back when it was defused.
