Ilovecrumpets · 07/12/2018 09:49

Does anyone have any ideas? Our lovely au pair is staying with us for Christmas and loveable Harry Potter. I was therefore hoping to get her something Harry Potter themed but am a bit clueless as not into it myself and my kids are too young.

Any ideas very welcome

loves Harry Potter.

She already has tickets for Harry Potter world when her sister visits so can’t be those

What is your budget? Loads of Harry potter bits this year. Boots have Harry potter themed make up and bath products. Lots of shops have clothes, slippers/jumpers all sorts. You can get some really nice hp stationery.
You can get pop figures of the hp characters.
Do you know if she has any other bits already? I think I'd be tempted to get her a gift box that looked a bit like a trunk and fill it with goodies, some hp chocolate, some of the boots bits and some stationery.

If you have a Primark near you get some pajamas, socks a back pack and make a hamper.

NopeNi · 07/12/2018 09:56

Rather than lots of little bits, what about a nice gift card in a Harry Potter card?

steppemum · 07/12/2018 09:57

Primark is your friend.
they always have loads fo Harry Potter stuff, and it is usually in the ladies department not the kids.

For example, Harry Potter PJ and bedsocks sets in a gift box.
Leather small rucksack with HP badges on (that is really nice actually)

also on-line IWOOT has loads, socks, games, necklaces, T-shirts etc

Argos have an awesome Dobby necklace, might treat myself to it!

FairfaxAikman · 07/12/2018 10:08

Do you know what house she is in? You can get scarves in each of the house colours, which is nice.

halcyondays · 07/12/2018 10:10

You can get the scarves at Claires. Primark have nice hoodies for each house, should also have nightwear.

Millipedewithherfeetup · 07/12/2018 10:18

Check out etsy..they have some lovely golden snitch necklaces.

Chinks123 · 07/12/2018 10:20

I second Etsy! Dp has got me some lovely bits of HP jewellery and jumpers for me from there. If not, HP is pretty much everywhere now, they have some cute bits in Sainsbury’s.

bellinisurge · 07/12/2018 10:55

I got my dd a lovely Floo Powder tin off Etsy that I will put cheapo food coloured green sand into.

Amazon have Harry Potter pop up books that have been discounted recently. Sounds a bit childish but I’m in my thirties and would be pleased if I received one

LoonvanBoon · 07/12/2018 11:56

What about the Harry Potter: A History of Magic book ? It's based on the British Library exhibition and is really interesting. My MIL bought it for my teenage son's birthday but I've been reading it - it's definitely aimed at adults / teens.

KittiesInsane · 07/12/2018 11:59

The illustrated versions of the books are really lovely.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/12/2018 12:08

What's your budget? The new pop up book looks amazing.

VanellopeVonSchweetz99 · 07/12/2018 12:13

George (Asda) had a nice grey ladies HP sweatshirt with sparkly studs in the shape of the Hogwarts crest if I remember correctly. (Nearly got it for DC who is tall & big at 10)

Ilovecrumpets · 07/12/2018 12:21

Gosh so many ideas. I’ve no idea what house she is in - will maybe try and weave that into conversation!

Budget is £50 - £60 ( she’s been amazing at a difficult time) but can’t decide whether all Harry Potter or a Harry Potter add on extra! She also loves afternoon tea so may get her voucher and something next small that is Harry Potter from the kids.

Extra smallish that was meant to read!

Etsy has some fantastic jewellery, I got a great personalised bangle last year. In fact I was spoilt for choice.

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 07/12/2018 12:26

I'd get smallish HP gifts and as others have said Primark is really good, got DP's daughter some lovely slipper socks with Gryffindor colours 😂😂😂

MickHucknallspinkpancakes · 07/12/2018 12:26

Or how about a ticket to the Warner brothers HP tour? Is that doable for her?

grincheux · 07/12/2018 12:29

Sainsburys have loads of Harry Potter things in at the moment, check their gift aisle out 😊

Nquartz · 07/12/2018 12:30

Boots have eye masks, eye shadow palettes, lip balms, hand cream, make up brushes, cosmetic bags & bath bombs.

The make up & toiletries all in the different house colours, they look fab & they're on 3 for 2
