Show me your festive mantelpiece!

I'm bored with our mantelpiece decorations and want to do something different this year. We normally have a thick garland of fake holly with small red berry lights entwined in it but I fancy a change. Inspire me, please!

The nicest non-garland mantelpiece dec I ever had was made as a cascading bridal bouquet: cream silk flowers, green stems & leaves with subtle gold trim on flowers and throughout, and a weeny bit of silver. I picked it up cheaply at a craft fair and had it for a decade. Sadly, it met its maker a year or so back. I balanced the wedge shape out, IIRC, by using 1 candle at one end of the mantel and three at the other.

It was a tad narrower than most I've seen - but if I was to do that again I'd probably look at something like one of these.
