What sort of hook do I need for my wreath?

I currently have a large suction cup but it tends to fall off frequently.

What do you all use? (Those over door ones don't fit my door - it doesn't shut properly, I've tried). I'd be greatful for links too Xmas Smile

I've bought one of those Tesa strips ones and it's holding well on a glass door so far.

I think they are called Command on the UK?

You stick up a strip and then attach the hook provided, hold for 5 seconds and it's stuck. Mine holds up to 2 kg.

Then when you remove you pull the sticky part (small tab) and it comes away clean!

I tie it to the door knocker now, but before we had that, I used fishing line to connect it to an upside-down 3M contact hook on the inside of the door, line running up and over the door which didn't interfere with it closing, iyswim...?

I have an inside wreath and an outside wreath and run a string over the door between them, with a bit of strong sellotape on the inside to stop it slipping.

I have a hook in the back of the door as well, and just string it up over the top of the door.

We have a high tech set up with a piece of garden wire that comes over the door and loops round our letterbox!

Command strips! You can’t beat them.

Command bathroom hook, it's stuck to a pvc door and it hasn't fallen yet.

lucysmam · 06/12/2018 21:33

Right, command hooks it will be if I can find some locally tomorrow. If not then I'll try and find some ribbon and tie it round and through the letter box until I get to town.

Thanks a lot for this thread. I’ve ordered the jumbo command hook from Amazon for £4.09 and it holds up to 3.4kg! I’m doing a wreath making workshop next week and not sure how heavy mine will be!
