Food when putting up the tree?

Does anyone have any traditions of food/meal they eat when putting up/decorating the tree?

My husband is on his works night out tomorrow and I've been off work all week ill. I'd like to decorate the tree with my 5 yo ds after school and make it special for him.

Was potentially thinking of making a batch of sausage rolls but any other suggestions of food we could have would be most welcome.

I came on the thread to suggest sausage rolls. We don't have a tree decoration tradition but it would be nice to have some mulled wine or hot chocolate and then mince pies (if you like them) or maybe a little cheeseboard? Then watch a Christmas film afterwards.

Oh, and put on Christmas music!

Not a specific tea but we always open the first box of Christmas chocolate and have got chocolate and the first Christmas film after. Sausage rolls would be nice though. Or a stew would be nice and cosy. Think I'll do that when we put ours up this weekend.

Thanks, looks like it's homemade sausage rolls and a few treats!
