The food shop. Online or in store?

I've booked a slot for Friday 21st but I'm now worrying about substitutes. Am I mad to rely on the shop being pretty accurate at this time of year? I have a newborn so reluctant to go to the shop but will do if it's going to guarantee I get better subs.

Which supermarket have you gone for? We've never had anything vital missing from Sainsbury's.

Sainsbury's so fingers crossed they should have everything!
Frozen turkeys...are they likely to still have them?

If you're getting frozen, just buy it now so you've got it already. One less thing to worry about!

Online, slot booked for 9am Sunday morning. Then I’ll go out and get anything they’ve missed, and get the stuff that needs to be really fresh first thing on Xmas eve.

I'm pretty sure they allocate enough for the early orders that come through. I've ordered online for Christmas for a few years now and important things (turkey etc) are often restricted to a low number per customer and cannot be added to on your list past a certain date.

Online, with enough wiggle room on delivery slot for a mercy dash for essentials.

Sainsbury's doesn't work like that as you can amend anything up to 11pm the night before. You simply get what's in stock in the branch it's coming from.
