Boys aged nearly 2 and 3. I don't want heaps of plastic tat. Any ideas?

So far thinking a car each, some chocolate coins or similar, and......that's it.

Get thee to Lidl and Aldi. Lots of wooden toys for hand eye coordination and fine motor skills.

Toothbrush
Bathbomb

How about a mini etchasketch?

redexpat · 04/12/2018 22:07

Oh thank you!! Bath bomb is a fabulous idea, they'll love those. Some other great ideas here too.

We are putting in. Stencils, crayola washable mini felts, socks, chocolate coins, toothbrush, a book.

Leeds2 · 04/12/2018 22:50

Character pants and socks.
A comic.
Small box of their favourite breakfast cereal (especially if they aren't allowed to have it very often!).
Character shampoo and bubble bath. Have seen Gruffalo ones in supermarkets, but I'm sure there are more.
A reading book.
Sticker book.
Bath chalks, or toy.

Stompythedinosaur · 04/12/2018 22:55

Bath toys and musical shakers.

CharminglyGawky · 04/12/2018 22:56

Crayons
Stickers
Light up bouncy ball
Small wooden puzzle board thing, I got a duck one from Amazon.
Magic flannel that expands in water the first time you use it.

Sparrowlegs248 · 04/12/2018 22:57

@Leeds2 Gruffalo bubble bath?? Do you remember where? Cereal box is a brilliant idea too, thanks!

My 2yr old has bubbles, a book, socks, Lanka Kade wooden animals, and a couple of wooden cars.

Sparrowlegs248 · 04/12/2018 23:02

Where have you got single wooden cars from @1stTimeMama? We have a story set each with wooden animals, but I'm keen to find a car/vehicle each but have only seen sets so farm

Nottalotta, I have definitely seen it this year, but unfortunately can't remember where. Last year, Waitrose had both Gruffalo bubble bath and shampoo.

sunshinel · 04/12/2018 23:13

Tiger have great stocking fillers including little individual wooden cars, fire engines etc for about £2 each

MonsterKidz · 04/12/2018 23:14

I’m doing crayola bath bomb, cute socks. Chocolate coins, bar of chocolate and a hot wheels car

bluechameleon · 04/12/2018 23:23

Lanka Kade wooden cars are lovely and good value
My 4 year old is getting Tidlo wooden superheroes, Plan toys mini construction tin, a dolls house playground set from Tiger, a little Lego set, a finger puppet, a biscuit cutter, Orchard toys mini game, Haba glow in the dark marbles and a cup. Other things he has had in the past couple of years have been Plan toys wooden emergency service workers, Grimms stacking fire, Plan toys boat for his bath, Holztiger wooden animals, mini Playmobil set, Lanka Kade mini puzzles, dolls house people, wind up toys, individual pieces of wooden play food (Haba I think), torch, ink stamps, water bottle.

Sparrowlegs248 · 04/12/2018 23:32

@Bluechameleon you have all the lively things! We have quite a bit of grimms and grapat, and the holz/Ost animal sets as part of their big presents. Just ordered sone play food funnily enough, and money and shopping bag.

Just found Gruffalo bubbles on Boots website. Off to peruse Tiger....

slappinthebass · 04/12/2018 23:43

There have been loads and loads of similar posts asking this so maybe have a search through. At 2 and 3 I'd go with wooden animals (holztiger, Ostheimer or Lanka Kade) wooden vehicles or trains for existing wooden train track if they have one, wind up wooden train if they haven't, toothbrush/toothpaste/bubble bath, character flannel or wash mitt, fun socks, shaped crayons, kaleidoscope, torch... the brain storm projector torches are especially fun and educational.

LiquoricePickle · 04/12/2018 23:46

Mine (19 months) has Crayola scented crayons, animal cookies, reindeer socks, notebook

Merrilymerrilymerrily · 04/12/2018 23:57

Tiger has (had) a great memory game where the pieces look like doughnuts (comes in a cylinder) that my 3 year old loves. Also mini magnetic drawing boards are great (the eraseable ones) and good for when out and about

Sparrowlegs248 · 05/12/2018 00:01

Just found out that a Tiger has opened in my nearest town! I'd not heard of it before so that's great !
