real xmas tree help please

Not had a real one before . Bought a 7ft tree on Sunday from the garden centre . It is a nordmann . Have sawn off the bottom and kept pouring water into the stand ever since . Everytime i touch a branch a ton of needles fall off . This isnt right is it ? not decorated it yet , i imagine when i do it will be shedding for fun .
Will it be dead by christmas ?

not really , its in the alcove of the living room . i suppose the living room is generally quite warm .

That's not right. It shouldn't be shedding already

i'll take it back then . god knows how i will get it out and into the car now though !
