Help with MIL and SIL

Hi all

I'm struggling to come up with ideas for presents for my MIL and SIL. In prior years I've left DH to sort his own family as I have so much other stuff to sort out for Christmas but invariably he leaves it until the last minute then gets them a voucher.

I am on mat leave this year so have a bit more time and want to find them both a really nice present. Problem is I have no idea what to get them!

SIL: 40, two children, very petite, trim, glam. Very fit (lots of running, yoga etc), very sociable and a great hostess (yes she is perfect Grin). Has a beautiful house and is always right on trend so I kind of feel like she already has everything!

MIL: likes to keep up with the jones' so always knows what is 'in', enjoys exercise, very house proud, particularly likes gin but I feel we've exhausted that route. She doesn't really have any stand-out interests or hobbies so there's no obvious type of present to get.

Keeping my fingers crossed for some mumsnet wisdom!!

TIA xxx

For SIL, maybe a really nice luxury candle for her home, Jo Malone or Diptyque?

For MIL, Isle of Harris gin has been mentioned a lot, and it looks gorgeous! (I ordered a bottle for my mum, who has loved gin since before it became so popular)!

Or perhaps a nice flower subscription for either of them?

Thanks for your thoughts Golden. A flower subscription is an interesting idea, MIL would probably love that! :) I'l float it with DH and see what he thinks. We got her some gin just a few weeks ago for a different occasion so I'm trying to avoid another gin gift if poss!

Can't go wrong with Jo Malone, great idea thank you.

For MIL a magazine subscription. One of the high end ones like House and Garden.

For SIL - candle route is good but also consider a magazine subscription something like Tatler. i subscriptions have good deals on a the moment.

Would they like tickets for a show/event like Crufts, London fashion week etc?
