DH is off work today and wants to get the tree up.

We would be buying a real one.

Is it too early?

Nope. Always put ours up on the first and they’re usually going strong still by New Years. Last year I made the mistake of buying one from an eBay tree seller and it was shit quality so was almost bare by Christmas Day, I took it down on the 27th. As long as you buy a good quality one and keep it watered, it’ll be fine.

I wouldn't put one in the house yet.

Buy it, chop a bit off the bottom but keep it outside in a bucket of water until mid December...

lots of them are cut already and sitting on the back of trucks/in shops so one school of thought is that if you buy it now then at least you can keep it in water for a week or so which should help it to last.

I wouldn't put it up in the house yet though.

We usually get ours in the middle of December, any earlier and I would worry about losing needles and having a twig in the corner by Boxing Day!

Mine is up in the house-got it saturday and decorated yesterday.

Always do around this weekend and (knock wood) always lasts til 12th Night Glitterball
