Dd2(10) has finally given me her christmas waist and on it she has "something I can collect-like Shopkins but not" I was thinking something she can display. Perhaps pop figures? She's not into Lego. Any ideas welcome.

Squinkies? She might be a bit old for them though. Squashies?

ShadowWeaver · 02/12/2018 21:24

Squashes? Those stress ball type things? She does have a few of those, I guess I could buy her a few more.

Squinkies are no good as our cat likes to eat them GrinHmm

Hatchimals collegtibles? Or those disney ones I've just seen on TV today. Disnables maybe? I have no idea what they're called

My 11 year old is obsessed with TY babies, the really small ones. They are now in a huge basket because she lost several of them between the bed and the wall.

CakeNinja · 02/12/2018 22:52

My dc seem to collect sweet wrappers, hair bobbles (mine mainly Hmm ) and friends who come round and raid the kitchen cupboards Grin

Dd1 (14) has a bit of a penguin collection.
Dd2 (13) used to collect harajuku (?) perfumes but doesn’t anymore.
Ds (7) likes blind bag figures.

Would your dd possibly like to collect Lego brickheads?

Stompythedinosaur · 03/12/2018 00:39

My dc have growing collections of Shopkins, Twosies, Pikmi Pops and Lol dolls. Also random rocks collected on walks.

They would like to have Popteenies but I am resisting at present.

I would personally try to encourage them to collect nicer figures - maybe schleich horses or something like that?

ohtheholidays · 03/12/2018 01:33

My DD collects different types of lipbalms,it wasn't a conscious decision I don't think,I was just sorting her room out and found how many different one's we'd bought her and put them all together and now she's collecting them.

She also loves the LOL surprise toys, she spend alot of her pocket money on the smaller one's along with Shopkins and anything Unicorn and she's really into Pikmi pops and all of the different squishes and slime that you can buy now.

If she likes Harry Potter Primark have a nice selection of ornaments.

Flying Tiger is another shop that sells some lovely little ornaments.

When I was that age I collected erasers,I had tons of them and I collected little frog ornaments and a gift of either of those to add to my collection I would have loved.

jakesmommy · 03/12/2018 06:50

My 11 year old and 8 year old sons both collect Funko Pop Vinyl figures, last year it was Pokemon cards

Roomba · 03/12/2018 06:54

Dust and empty cups, looking at their bedroom Grin

Sorry, not helpful, DS2 collects shells and pebbles by the bucketful to turn into 'interesting' arty creations. So I usually buy him lot of crafty stuff for Christmas as he loves making stuff.

smiler0206 · 03/12/2018 06:56

My DD likes to make the wooden models from hobby craft and she has them all on shelves in her bedroom. She has all of the London landmarks, she really enjoys making them and some of them take hours to make, but she gets more enjoyment out of displaying them because she made them herself. I've bought her a boat, plane and car one for Christmas

MooseyMoo · 03/12/2018 07:00

Funko Pop figures. My DD loves Harry Potter and she's getting some Fantastic beast ones for Christmas

fairyqueen · 03/12/2018 07:16

DD16 collects glass animals. Has done for years. You can usually buy them in holiday places so she gets them as souvenirs. They look gorgeous on a shelf and would transition to adulthood still looking nice. It was a lovely choice and I’m glad we encouraged it.

She also seems to have a highlighter habit but that one is out of hand!

Tiggles · 03/12/2018 07:51

How about a charm bracelet?

claraschu · 03/12/2018 08:11

Soap! (in cool shapes, and no one can use it)
Tiny animal figures of different sorts from all over the world.
Rocks
Marbles (there are some amazing and beautiful ones)

Soubriquet · 03/12/2018 08:12

My 5 almost 6 year old collects Hatchimal colleggtibles, party pop teenies (she loves the pop part) and LOL dolls.

We have spent a fortune on them

petitesiirene · 03/12/2018 13:56

My 13 year old collects Sailor Moon merch, along with Kpop stuff, she said If I bought her anything like an LOL doll she would disown me lmao so I think I might buy one for a joke just to see her reaction lol.

BearSoFair · 03/12/2018 13:58

11yo DD has recently started collecting Harry Potter pop figures.
9yo DS2 has Match Attax and Pokemon cards.

Viebienremplie · 03/12/2018 14:30

My 10 yo DD collects Harry Potter tat - jewellery, Pop heads, anything HP related really. She spends hours arranging it in displays in her room. Obsession with Harry Potter is required for this activity....

Vicious2018 · 03/12/2018 14:45

Ds collects Lego. Star Wars Lego currently. Dd collects turtles in various forms (teddy, glass, plastic etc). She also had loads of Num noms, shopkins and tsumtsums.

Allthepinkunicorns · 03/12/2018 16:03

Lego and pez candy dispensers.

user1494055864 · 03/12/2018 16:52

At her age I would say the funko pop figures, there are loads of characters on amazon, and they do keyring, blind bags etc. My 10 and 14 year old are getting them. I think she is probably a bit old to start shopkins/lol dolls etc.

Whyislarryhappy · 03/12/2018 16:54

Hatchimals
Bush baby world
Lol surprise
Pikmi pops
Superzings

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 03/12/2018 22:15

My dd is 10 and we get her a Snow globe each year (only Primark or similar but relating to current interests. She's had a panda, Sloth, unicorn and this year Harry potter one!)

She has also started collecting funko pop figures - she got teen titans for her birthday and has asked for sonic and Harry potter ones for Christmas.

We also get the ty beanie boos each year to poke out of the stocking - dd1 has a random collection of animals, dd2 has mainly cats and unicorns.

TwistedStitch · 03/12/2018 22:18

My DC collect Funko Pop Vinyls. DS (10) collects mainly FNAF and Fortnite ones, DD (4) likes Disney ones.

slappinthebass · 03/12/2018 23:25

Funko Pop is your best bet as she won't grow out of them soon. My dd11 found Beanie Boo Boo's on holiday, they are flocked Mini figure version of the soft toy, so I've got her a few of them for her stocking.
