Christmas tree decorating

It’s that time of year when everyone post pictures of thier trees online, I love it until you see that those with kids don’t let the kids decorate the tree because they have to have it a certain way, colours etc. I’m ocd about how stuff goes etc except when it comes to the tree, Christmas is mainly about the kids so why not let them decorate it.
So my question is who lets the kids decorate and who doesn’t.....

My kids always decorate the only bit I do is the lights for obvious reasons. The rest is up to them, I may not look organised it may look a total mess but that’s what it’s all about.

It is what's it's all about so I got round it by letting them have thier own 4 ft trees in their room.

Going to let DD (2) join in with decorating ours. It’ll probably look like a mess but she’ll get so much pride and enjoyment from it.

Normally they don't help d3corate the main room tree, but they have a 6ft tree in their room and another 6ft tree in the hall way that they cab do what they like to.

But this year there done the main room and I love it.

Our DD aged 4 has no interest in decorating our tree - she has her own mini one in her room that she likes decorating. She does have the very important job of placing our star on top though, she loves doing that part

I let the kids decorate the tree and tell them it's gorgeous, then rehang the ornaments so it's properly balanced. They are too excited baout other stuff to notice. But I like a tasteless tree. It should be sparkle overload in every colour not minimalist chuffing ceramic globes and hessian ribbons.

DD has her own tree in her bedroom that's hers to decorate as unevenly and as garish as she likes. Which she did yday and is very happy with the results.

Living room tree is mine to do.

DH couldn't give too hoots

I let ds pass me the things and put the star on but I'm too picky to let him put the stuff on the branches 🙈
