My DD will be 6 months old this Christmas and is the first grandchild on both sides. I need some help for ideas of presents to get the new grandparents for Christmas from her. What gifts did you most treasure/enjoy/use. I'm thinking something personalised or DIY (im not very crafty so nothing too difficult). We will also be getting them a gift from me and DH which will be something they want off their list (books, scarf, gloves etc) so wanted to make the gift from their grandchild more personal but also not too tatty. Any help greatly appreciated!

hell on earth. You can't throw them away but what would you do with them?

I put our baby hand/footprint baubles out every year!! Mean a lot to me especially when I see the size of baby DSs feet compared to the huuuuuge size 11.5 feet he has now!
We also still put out our Xmas tree shaped plates, hand painted by my dcs when they were little! Santa's treats go on them and dd still insists on doing it even though she's 15!
My mum and dad still use their mugs with portraits of them drawn by 2 and 3 year old DGCs. They still gave the pottery plates my DC painted for them.
So yeah, a pottery place is great - if your family like that!

This might be a bit outing but last year DD2 gave me a double frame containing a photo of 1 month old v. precious DGD on one side and a photo of her hand on the other side. This was very personal to us as I always put in the new grandchild baby card a thank you for another little hand to hold along life's way. Made me cry and really treasure it so I'd say a framed photo OP. [Really hoping for another one this year]

Great ideas, thanks for your help! I think I'm definetely going to do a framed photo of some sort and I really like the handprint bauble idea as it only has to come out once a year (if they don't like it) and a lovely idea to collect them as she grows!

A lovely thing dd gave me was a professional B&W photo of her, SiL, and Gdd at about 6 weeks. While I was trawling John Lewis for a nice plain frame to suit it (easier said than done, but I'm fussy about frames) some other random shopper remarked on what a lovely photo it was.
