Mincemeat - spiced rum?

I have my Delia mincemeat in the oven but it seems I don't have any brandy left to add at the end. I have some spiced rum and I think that might taste quite nice but I'd really like opinions before I do it if anyone else has tried it!

Advise me please - go with the spiced rum or go out and get some brandy?

Haven't tried with spiced rum (although I always use rum in mincemeat) but I think it'd be lovely. You have some of the spices in the mincemeat mix anyway so I think it's just enhance that (providing you like spiced rum).

I made the same recipe and used Ameretto. Spiced rum would be lovely.
