DS will be 6 months at Christmas and haven't a clue what to get him as every idea we've came up with someone else has already got him lol

Nothing. Save yourself the money whilst he knows no better. Honestly.

Really? I was thinking of getting a mobile for the cot, so suppose I could use that as a pressie

He's six months old. He has no clue it is Christmas. Enjoy it and don't get him anything! He won't care!!!

Polkapjs · 28/11/2018 21:59

Yes - maybe bits he’ll need anyway like socks and bath stuff or bath toys in nice scrunchy paper to play with

Save your money and enjoy letting everyone else spoil him. Use the money you save to get him something he'll enjoy next year. He'll quickly outgrow everything he's given for Christmas & toddler toys are so much more fun.

Thanks I'll pick up a few wee outfits in bigger sizes wrap them up and let him go wild with the paper lol

I agree I really wouldn't buy anything. If you want to you could get something that he might need before his next birthday. I've got a 6 week old who will be 2mo at Christmas and have bought her a bumbo (second hand), a ball pit (second hand) and a few car and buggy toys but that's pretty much it. It's only because she has older siblings who would question why she wasn't included, largely by Father Christmas.

Wrap up things you would buy any way, you don’t need to go mad at this age but it is nice to have something for him for photos to look back on so a few rattles, toys he can grown into or outfits. As it’s his first Christmas take lots of nice photos, I always had a professional photo shoot done with a first Christmas outfit, then bought some tree decorations/soft toys that still to this day come out every Christmas. Start off some traditions and memories and don’t worry about spending I’m sure he will get gifts from relatives too Smile
