Ladies, apart from the usual prosecco / baileys on ice drinks that everyone demolishes at Christmas. Has anyone any nice Christmas cocktail recipes.

Has anyone mad egg nog? I don't know if I can stomach drinking raw egg?

I will have a drinks cabinet full of liquor so I want to be able to rustle up something fancy, even if its only for myself haha

Glass of champagne, juice of half a lemon, 3 tablespoons of pink gin, 2 ice cubes and a couple of fresh cherries! Rocket fuel. OR you will fall asleep Grin

Snowball for retro kitsch
Lychee martini (Nigella Christmas)
Poinsettia (Prosecco, Cointreau, Cranberry juice - also Nigella)
Champagne cocktails - sugar cube soaked in few drops of angostura bitters, shot of brandy and topped up with champagne

Eggnog is fabulous

I use honey jack Daniels for the booze and it’s epic :)

Spiced pear Bellini - made a spice syrup from a google recipe (allspice, star anise, cinnamon & cloves with sugar & water) - mix with pear purée and Prosecco. Inspired by a recent cocktail but I’m trying them tomorrow so not sure how good mine will be!

Vodka, elderberry cordial and prosecco. It’s called a “Twinkle”.

Oh yeah definitely Poinsietta! I made a few jugs a couple of Xmas ago and my lovely mother in law had to make Xmas dinner with only one functioning eye GrinGrinGrin BIL had to step in and rescue it, he didn't partake of the booze

i like a champagne cocktail ...douse a sugar cube with angostura bitters and set it into a coupe glass, splash over a dash of brandy and top up with champagne

there's also one called a Christmas Pudding, equal measures of port and amaretto

I need to get some creme de cacao as I intend to get festively merry on Brandy Alexanders ...cream, brandy, creme de cacao and as much nutmeg as possible.

Jamie's mulled wine syrup is great. I make a big batch of it and keep in a kilner jar for when the mood takes me! Just heat in a pan or microwave with some red wine.

Jamie’s eggnog was a massive failure here - tasted of scrambled egg...boak. I much prefer Martha Stewart’s classic eggnog - always works for me. www.marthastewart.com/355404/marthas-classic-eggnog
