Elf on a shelf ideas!

So this is the first year I'm doing elf on a shelf! I have 6yo and 3yo boys and a 8mo girl. I've stuck an elf door on the skirting board today and been prepping them for the elves arrival. Now I need some ideas on what to do. Quick and easy without much prep ideally as I work long hours and I'm a single Mum. Thanks!

I only have one child but the things I did that he laughed at /remembers the most are:

green wee (food colouring)
stuck eating sweets in the fridge
asleep in my bed with sweet wrappers littering bed
climbed up onto curtain pole
did the Andrex loo roll down stairs with elf wrapped up in end
sitting on garden bench reading one ofmy sons books wrapped up in blanket
snuck into school bag
seat belted into car on pick up from school
