Scooter

Bored games
Vouchers
Young drivers experience

Place marking for ideas for 11yr old DN.

My son is getting a Lego millennium falcon from when it was on offer.
There are some good offers of Fire tablets at the moment.

Anella · 26/11/2018 19:27

Thanks BifsWif, he has practically everything that that you mention, I like the young drivers experience idea. He would love a nintendo switch but I refuse to get one for him. He has a Wii and I am really anti anything electronic. He likes drawing, building things, making dens..
Herecomesthsun he already has the MF, it's a great present.

What about the 3d pen if he likes drawing?

FeralBeryl · 26/11/2018 19:35

We've got (for 9 year old DS)

Harry Potter scrabble
HP colour changing glass
HP jellybeans
Science build your own frisbee flying thing
Chemistry set
Joke book
David Walliams books
A metal detector Grin
Cozmo robot
Lego fortnite minifigures
(Nintendo switch game but know you don't like this)

FeralBeryl · 26/11/2018 19:36

What about Meccano OP?

BrieAndChilli · 26/11/2018 19:41

Flying Tiger have a good range of sketch pads and pens - 11 year old DS1 loves them.
Brain puzzles /puzzle ball
Tiger is good for stocking bits.

Books on coding? Build your own robot

Camouflage net? I’ve got one for DS2 for about £13 on amazon
Proper tool kit? DS2 has a kids size one but all the tools are real.

DS1 is obsessed with maps so I’ve got him and he’s had in the past lots of nice map books but I appreciate it’s a niche present idea!

So my ds (8yrs, 10yrs, 12 yrs) are getting from me and others

Lego
K’nex
Clothes
Books
Rubix cube
Juggling balls
Alarm clock
Watches
Fitbit
Anki overdrive
Chocolate Harry Potter wand
Magic trick sets
Board game to share

I also thought about a robot, unicycle, sports kit, football on a stretchy lace, smoothie maker but have spent up to our limits.

As a family we are given NationalTrust membership which goes towards their present.

plaidlife · 27/11/2018 03:47

LEGO boost is great because it combines building and coding skills.

BearSoFair · 27/11/2018 08:46

Someone on another thread posted this hydraulic robot arm kit which MIL ended up buying for 9yo DS2. I'm predicting it may end up being the favourite gift of this year for him!

SilkenTofu · 27/11/2018 10:40

My DS nearly 10 is getting these stocking fillers:

iTop
Gear cube (rather than Rubic's)
Books
Chocolate
Stop motion Animation (e.g. Stickbots or Ani-mate movie maker kit)
Zentangle Doodling for kids
Lush bath bombs
Stationery, massive playing cards, art supplies from Tiger
Board games
Christmas T shirt

Anella · 27/11/2018 14:51

Thanks to everyone for some great ideas, I'm feeling far more relaxed now!

Anella
Have you got a Primark near you? I am not a massive fan but yesterday I did a raid on Grinch T shirts (bargain at £5) , Grinch slippers and other merchansise, Christmas pudding hats and other stuff. You can get quite a few stocking fillers there for not a lot of money.

mrsdaz · 29/11/2018 07:20

My 9 year old ds is having

Echo dot
Fitbit (amazon cheap version)
Light board for drawing
Pokemon books
Zu3d or hue animation kit (can’t decide which)
Goalie gloves
Messi football
Football heroes books
Personalised pencil case and pens
Remote control monster truck
Sequin reversible cushion and cover (its black and green from amazon and will keep him entertained for hours)
Bits and bobs for stocking fillers.

namechangedyetagain · 29/11/2018 07:28

Year 6 Ds is getting xbox games HP and the hobbit, a wallet for when he starts secondary school next year, day out to the HP tour, another lego MF (kessel run), echo dot, stormtrooper onesie and that will most likely be it apart from stockings with chocolates, bubble bath, magazine etc.
