What sort of things does he like? My DS is 4 and I'm trying to avoid too many toys because he hasn't outgrown most of his current toys but has just become interested in superheroes. Off the top of my head he's getting
Some captain America vans trainers
A superhero busy book
Captain America shield
Nerf gun
Lots of books
Some headphones
A dinosaur excavation kit
Cuddly dinosaur
Keyrings for his school bag
New backpack
Watch
Safe darts board
A cake making hamper I'm doing myself with sprinkles, dyes, icing and cutters

Oh and some bruder things

What's your budget?

At that age basic Lego blocks are good (if he has an interest get a mini set of that top, I just find the sets are a lot more restrictive in terms of play value).

Gooey Louie seems a hit with that age if they have siblings to play with.

Mine loved an ant farm at that age too but not all parents are happy to have them.

My 3 year old boy is getting:

A wooden castle with knights and dragon figures
A remote control car in a tyre
Tree blocks and people which will move outside in the spring
Marble run blocks
A christmassy penguin game
Books about castles, space and the human body as he's interested in all these at the moment

Plus my mum is getting him a magnet set and some wooden weighing scales

Don't know if he would like anything along any of those lines? Depends what he's into really.

Depends on what he likes.
Mine is getting a wooden abacus, a yo-yo and a book.
