Where can I find a golden teddy bear???

My daughter has asked for one thing this year - a golden teddy bear. I've googled for ages but can't find one anywhere. If anyone knows where I might get such a thing it would be brilliant if you could let me know.

For reference, she means a cuddly bear rather than a solid gold bear thankfully, and it needs to be shiny gold rather than golden brown iykwim

Thank you

Winnie the Pooh is a bright yellow colour, would he do ?

Build a bear has yellow golden coloured bears. They also have golden dresses.

There's a gold beanie baby www.amazon.co.uk/TY-Beanie-Baby-DECADE-Version/dp/B002GOJXV0?tag=mumsnetforum-21

Thanks all, the Steiff or Conrad bear are the closest to what she wants I think, it needs to be shiny gold rather than golden brown. Not sure I can stretch to £156 for a teddy!!

If you know anyone crafty, can you get some metallic gold velvet or chenille type fabric and make your own? You can buy bear making kits from places like John Lewis and substitute the fabric...?

He's only small (beanie baby size) but definitely gold! Could be an option if you can't find a bear

Hamleys is my go to for bears. I’ve never met a child that didn’t love a Hamleys Bear.

What about this one?

Asda have swipe sequin bears in at the moment and I’m sure there’s a gold one, not sure of name though sorry.

She doesn’t mean a Lindt chocolate teddy?

BumbleyBum · 27/11/2018 21:26

I was in a charity shop today where they had a very little teddy. He was cream with shiny gold flecks through the fur. It was only 99p. I’ll happily pop back tomorrow to see if he’s still there and post him over to you?

Although I appreciate the colour may not be quite right, I can definitely recommend the quality of the Merrythought bear linked to earlier. I have one I was given over 50 years ago, dcs have the ones they were given when they were born and our dgs will be getting one this year, for his first Christmas.

MadameButterface · 27/11/2018 21:53
