Fake L.O.L. dolls on Ebay

I know there was a thread on this topic about a year ago, but I posted this because fake L.O.L dolls are still everywhere on Ebay. They don't look like fakes until your child opens them and is disappointed. I bought the L.O.L. surprise spy series. As your child opens each layer they are supposed to discover; a spy-glass, a code to solve and eventually a capsule where the code has to be entered in order to get at the doll inside. Mine was just a cheap plastic container, with a poor quality doll inside. Beware! only buy from reputable dealers like Smiths toys or Argos. You might not realise these dolls are fake but I guarantee your child will know and be very upset when they open it.

Agreed it’s not worth it to save a few pounds, I made the mistake of buying fakes when they were first released and didn’t notice until I’d bought genuine ones and compared. Also there were concerns the plastic may be toxic as it isn’t checked to our safety standards when bought from China.

I had a reply back from the seller, telling me that this was the 'new' smaller sized L.O.L. unwrapped series and it's being sold in all the shops. I've checked, on the Internet, and the one I received is not for sale in any of them. I've also contacted L.O.L. Customer Services to ask whether such a version has been made. Waiting to hear back from them. Has anyone else heard of this 'smaller sized' one? and I don't mean the little L.O.L. The one I received is not just smaller, it has no code to unlock either. I was offered 50% of my price back, but I'm not accepting atm as I still think I was sold a fake.
