Ideas for a whole family gift?

My BIL and SIL always buy us a whole family gift so we tend to do the same for them. Last year we got them a board game so I don't want to get another this year. Things that might rule a few ideas out - 3 kids are at boarding school in a different country from where their parents live so they aren't together much, SIL is diabetic and none of them drink. Oh and since they live abroad it can't be too big or should be consumable as they won't have much room in their suitcase. Any ideas?!

Not sure about your budget but how about some lovely stationary? Nice notepaper, envelopes, stamps etc. Maybe some magic pens so the children get de-code the messages or some crafty bits.

If you get 12 of each per person then they can all keep in touch all year.

Low space in the case and useful...

A choice of DVD's with British or some other films (box set) they might have missed since they live abroad

A speaker.?

Voucher for a meal out or show near where they live

Can you get a hamper delivered for when they return home

Do you have a nice photo of them altogether that you could print and frame for their home?

Not on the High Street is quite good for personalised family gifts, like framed prints & stuff

Hamper from a local store or M&S if they have one to their home
Tickets for a meal or afternoon tea in a nearby restaurant
Cash in their bank account
Goodies from Carluccios like panetonne to eat here with you

Day out at somewhere like Go Ape! which they do before they go home.
