Brown paper wrap

For those of you who use it, do you sellotape it or just use ribbon? My thinking is that we're using brown paper as it's recyclable but then if we put sellotape that part won't be able to be recycled will it?

Following, I was thinking Kraft tape like Amazon use. I can do string on nice square boxes but I would struggle with awkward shaped ones.

I'm going to avoid where I can and use string and then use washi tape where needed. I'm not sure if it is recyclable but it is biodegradable unlike sticky tape so if I do end up peeling if off it's easy enough to do and will degrade.

That's true about awkward shapes @Lost5stone I hadn't thought of that

@bogiesaremyonlyfriend good idea on the washi tape

I've bought some funky Santa ribbon today to try and jazz up DSD's presents. She does have an awful lot of awkward shaped ones though!

We tend to use washi tape and due to brown paper not tending to have the glossy layer you don't need as much tape as you would with wrapping paper.
