Kindle fire help

Have read lots of threads about these and pretty sold on the idea. I still can't work out whether to get the kids version or the standard and then add on the case/subscription (maybe ideas for grandparents to give as presents)

Can anyone help me, I'm spending way too much dithering about with this!

The kids one sounds great but am I correct in thinking the standard one can be 'made' to be exactly the same by buying a case and the kids unlimited subscription? Or is there something particularly 'different' about the kids one??

Also she's been using a standard iPad (not hers). Will the fire 7 seem tiny or is it totally fine? Toying between 7 and 8.

The kid in question is 6yo

Any insight appreciated!

We have always had the standard fires for our DD’s (almost 9 and 6) I also pay £4.99 a month for the kids subscription, not sure if that’s included in the kids kindle or not. They have been dropped and all sorts and have held up fine.
