PS4 games for DD(6)

We've finally caved and bought DC thier first console for Christmas. Now we would like to buy them a couple of games each. DS is 10 so fairly easy to buy for and DD is 6. Was thinking of getting Just Dance but what else might like? I'm clueless as haven't bought computer games since I was a kid so no idea what's out there!

Sorry I thought the original post I wrote had disappeared so reposted. Now I have the same thread twice. How do I get one deleted?

Lego games? My 8yr old dd loves Lego Harry Potter and Batman.
Mine craft is usually a favourite too.

At the moment 'Fortnight' is all the rage and that's all my son (11) is interested in. Not sure how it works on Playstation but my son downloaded it on Xbox. I would buy a headset with mic. He used to also like Minecraft and goes back to that occasionally.

*fortnite

Lego game sounds good.

Re. Fortnite...what makes it rated 12? My son is 9 but will be 10 by Christmas. Is it suitable for him? All his friends seem obsessed with it too but not sure if they all play it.

Fortnite is a hole you want to be avoiding for as long as possible.

It just seems to be a game of spending time going around blowing up people .... and having to stop them wanting to spend their pocketmoney on dodgy upgraded skins and equipment.

Minecraft is better IMHO

Lego games, dance or singing games and spyro has just been reissued on ps4

We did the same last Christmas, when the dc were 6 and 9.

Dd, now 7, has struggled with a lot of the games that DS has been competent in, most notably Minecraft.

They have both enjoyed Harry Potter Lego games (but are both big fans of HP), Knack Lego Worlds and Overcooked.

School and parents of older children have advised against Fortnight. It’s basically a slasher game.

Thanks all. This is really helpful. I'm thinking we'll get Lego Harry Potter, either Overcooked or Spyra, Just Dance and Fifa 19 as it comes in the bundle with the console. Hoping they will both be happy with that...?

Both my kids love Minecraft but they can use the ipad for now.

My DSs (9 and almost 6) LOVE all the Skylanders games.

Can I ask where you bought the PS4? It's a minefield to me...;)

CoffeeChocolateWine · 23/11/2018 15:03

I got it from Currys. To be honest I was hoping for a better deal but I got the console with controllers and FIFA 19 for £249. Was waiting for it to go nearer £200 but it didn’t! There are better deals with just one controller I think.

Do you have phones/tablets enough for everyone? We really like the link play games, you can use your device as a controller - same for the singing games.
Rocket league is popular here too

Elphaba17 · 23/11/2018 15:07

Crash bandicoot would be great for your DDs age.
