Stumped what to get dd she is so hard to buy for and no asking her does not help!

Anyway, she struggles getting up for work is not a morning person at all.

Couple other threads had me thinking Sony cube but I think it's a bit old fashioned for her.

So I'm thinking something like:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07GB2MMK5/ref=mpssa113aait?ie=UTF8&qid=1542902616&sr=8-3&refinements=p76%3A419159031&keywords=lumie+alarm+clock&dpPl=1&dpID=31nuQhzv8BL&ref=plSrch

So what do we think?

Also any other ideas for a soon to be 18 yr old girl other than pyjamas etc gratefully received.

Honestly I've left things a little late - my mistake.

I'm housebound so it needs to be things I can order online, preferably Amazon as already got a load of items in basket and it's just easier, but will consider other well known retailers who deliver.

Anyone? Really need help with this

My dd has benefitted from hers, I think she might like it OP. And you could make it a bedtime theme with slippers/pjs , bath stuff and chocolate.

Graphista · 22/11/2018 18:19

Yea I could... Just that's what I do most years I'd like to do something different but stuck for ideas... Maybe a "getting up in the morning" theme? No idea how I'd do that!

It depends what she’s into. I’d probably get something she can wear, , something she can use, something to eat etc etc.

Amazon have some lovely sterling silver Swarovski necklaces and earrings for reasonable prices.

My 18 year old son is having:

Trainers
Hair dryer
T-shirt
Jogging bottoms
Lynx set
CK one aftershave
Sterling silver ring (£42)

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/11/2018 18:20

That light looks good, although I must admit I know nothing about them.

John Lewis have some good deals on makeup gift sets, if she's interested.

Will she be going to uni next year? Maybe a new backpack/bag filled with nice stationery etc?

moomin4071 · 22/11/2018 18:20

What about a nice hot drinks mug, like Contigo cups?

Gettingthereslowly1 · 22/11/2018 18:28

Mrsdaz what ring did you buy your son please? That’s a really good idea

Graphista · 22/11/2018 18:29

She's not going uni - already working full time. Unfortunately some issues at end of her schooling put her right off! (New broom head being a twat and not listening re issues due to dd having a disability).

I'm building quite a basket on Amazon.

Mostly birthday stuff (Feb but I have learned to be organised)

But also her favourite scent and a t-shirt. Do I go for the alarm clock?

Do John Lewis deliver?

Graphista · 22/11/2018 18:31

She's a bit of a nightmare with jewellery a ring might be an idea but how to know what size tp get?

Cathpot · 22/11/2018 18:31

I bought DH a light clock as he has very odd work hours and he really likes it- I think that’s a lovely idea!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 22/11/2018 18:32

Does she have the amazon Dot? I've got one each for my older two ds's to use as an alarm clock. I also got the deal with the Alexa plug so they can turn on the lamp in their rooms without getting up (super lazy teens).

Twitchintervention · 22/11/2018 18:41

A getting up hamper/themed present could be a really nice present....

A sunrise alarm clock (we have a Luma and it’s fab) a zesty showergel, posh vitamin C chewy vitamins/sweeties a nice dressing gown daily planner? Morning green/lemon/ tea, loads of ideas!

I think that’s a really good present for a teen!! Smile

Graphista · 22/11/2018 18:45

Pop good ideas and thoughts guys.

She won a bonus at work so she's decided she's getting the Google version of the dot? Not my wheelhouse at all

OP posts:
Graphista · 22/11/2018 18:54

Twitch is it the same clock you have or just same brand?

OP posts:
Graphista · 22/11/2018 18:58

Cathpot - yes, dds shifts are odd too I can't keep track and so when she's on earlies after a series of lates she really struggles and I don't mean being lazy I mean too tired to hear alarm. But she also cannot sleep unless room pitch dark.

DramaAlpaca · 22/11/2018 19:00

I think the sunrise alarm clock is a great idea. I have one & it works brilliantly. In fact I might get one for DS21 who's terrible at getting out of bed.

TBDO · 22/11/2018 19:03

I love my sunrise clock, am planning to get my DCs the same when they hit year 10/11.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/11/2018 19:04

Love that idea, Twitch.

Twitchintervention · 22/11/2018 19:13

Graph ours is different and looking at it a little more expensive to buy (not that I’m sure there are any real big difference’s though) I quite often use it as a lamp at bed time too as of gives of a nice dewy light...

Graphista · 22/11/2018 20:00

Yea as its a bit of a risk/surprise going with cheaper option. Mind if she don't like it I may Nick it! Grin

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/11/2018 20:02

I think the cheaper one looks a good choice for a teen. If you get it, please will you report back?

Graphista · 22/11/2018 20:19

Absolutely - remind me after Xmas if needed - my memory appalling these days!

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/11/2018 20:23

Mine too!

Hope she likes it.

Graphista · 22/11/2018 20:24

Well big Amazon order done eek! It's only once a year I spend like that.

No idea what to get anyone else either. I don't have many to buy for, but the ones I do are awkward Sod's!

Limited in what they can do/use and what little can be purchased they're all ok financially so just get when they want - makes birthday & Xmas blooming difficult for everyone though. And no asking doesn't help cos all I get is "oh whatever I don't mind" AngryGrin

OP posts:
mrsdaz · 22/11/2018 20:24

@gettingthereslowly1 it was just one from very.co.uk. A sterling silver diamond ring.

Pandora do some lovely ones and there’s loads on h Samuel and other places :-) x
