How do I ‘Black Friday’ successfully?

Never done it before.

Have been saving all year and really want to treat DS to a ps4.

Been told they’re normally on offer for black Friday.

How can I make sure I get a good deal?

Do I wait until the strike of midnight for the offers to go live? Will I miss out if I wait until the morning? Arghh I’m so confused by it all. I don’t normally shop online except for eBay so I’m scared I’m going to either miss out or not get the best deal.

Any tips?

I read that if you put it in your basket, clear your browser history then go back on the page once the deals have been released it will automatically update the price

Do your homework and make sure you know the prices beforehand. Some just do 24 hour sale but others run their sale for a week. As long as you know what you want and how much the usual price is, you can't go too far wrong. Use one of the price history trackers on the exact product you want & look into prices today so you know what to expect
& what is a good price. Also don't be swayed by bundles - unless the bundle includes games that your DS actually wants

I've got a list of things I need/want. They are not necessarily for Christmas. Most of the online stores I am looking at say 23 Nov at 0900. I'll be ready to log on then. I have a priority list of things I think may go fast. Later on I need to go into the city so will have a look then.

I've already bought a few things that have been on BF sale all week. They may go down tomorrow but I can't chance it because a couple of websites are already out of stock for what I want.

Have a browse on Hotukdeals and see what offers are available now so you have an idea of what is a good deal or not. There's also some posts on what black friday deals have been leaked already.

Thank you! I’ll look on hotukdeals now and see what they’re saying.

From my (not very extensive) research on price history, it looks like it was selling for £150 last Black Friday 2017 which is a saving of £100! Would be amazing if they do similar this year. Didn’t think the saving could be that much!
