I have finished DD (7) list already 5 items over (after supposedly cutting back this year Hmm) but I still keep going back for more....

Please slap me on the wrists and tell me this is more than adequate...

Stocking

Schleich animals (she collects)
Christmas lolly
Pants
Hair Clips
Lol x 2
Purse
Jelly Cat (Casper)
Sleep spray
Sleepy cream from Lush
Bath bombs from Lush
Glittery star stickers for her room
Sorreen (she is obsessed
Christmas tree decoration

Santa Sack

Our Generation horse trailer
LOL pop up store
Lol under wraps X 2
Squishy’s
Bike helmet
Animal encyclopaedia
Luna pomsie
Archaeologist precious stones set
Scruff a luv
Selection box
Remote control moon for her room
Code diary.

From Us

Disney Garmin tracker
Hobby equipment.

I know written down it’s plenty but just finding her such a nice age to buy for especially as she is the last of mine to still believe in the Santa Magic!!!

Twitching at the Enchantimals set which has now been reduced in Smyths despite both knowing I have bought enough and making this the year to cut back on plastic!!

Someone tell me NO and slap me on the wrist or equally tell me it’s worth it and to make the most of buying toys before the magic is lost to brands and technology forever!!! 😂😭

Hmm
Equimum · 22/11/2018 10:06

It is very tempting, but that sounds like an amazing pile for Christmas morning without anything else. For context, my six year old will have five gifts from us/Santa, plus a similarly organised stocking. I too, Lee seeing things he would love, but then think about the space and what he would gain from them, and realise they are not needed.

SillySallySingsSongs · 22/11/2018 10:09

That list is more than enough.

KittensAndCake · 22/11/2018 10:25

Seems like a lovely amount. Now step away from the toy shops.....

DonaldDucksTowel · 22/11/2018 10:29

Oooo do you have a lwe no for the remote control moon?

I’d totally buy the set if you can afford it btw

DonaldDucksTowel · 22/11/2018 10:36

Link* 🙄 bloody phone

Twitchintervention · 22/11/2018 10:41

@DonaldDucksTowel

I bought it off the John Lewis website but it’s also on Amazon and gets great reviews on both!!....

Cut up that credit card!

buckeejit · 22/11/2018 10:46

Thats too much imo. It's overwhelming for them when they have too much & they may have a load more tat from relatives. And don't buy any more plastic!

I'm just as bad though. Hide the bargain threads & do crafty things to divert your attention from twitching!

I'm off to do my spreadsheet & see what's needed. I'm skint atm which should help me reign it in!

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 22/11/2018 10:46

That's a lot.

Just think about it. Will it all get used and loved a month after it's been unboxed? Where will you store it all?

PhilomenaButterfly · 22/11/2018 10:52

DS 7 will have:

1 small present and something chocolatey from Father Christmas

A Preston Playz hoodie
Joggers
Stretch Monster
A Spiderman Illumi-mate

DonaldDucksTowel · 22/11/2018 11:18

Love that moon! Thanks Twitch
My 3 year olds favourite bed avoidance tactic is to stand at the window looking for the moon - I’m going to order that so he can lie in bed looking at it instead Grin

Fishandthechips · 22/11/2018 11:26

She has enough and I imagine will be delighted on Christmas morning!
However I was sure I was finished buying for ds three presents ago and now the Happyland farm has been reduced to less than half price. Im sitting on my hands repeating to myself that he has plenty.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 22/11/2018 11:39

I need intervention too , I have bought a ridiculous amount, dreading getting it out to wrap 😂

All has been reduced or on sale so not spent loads but more than I had budgeted for.

If it's the panda house..... the box is enormous i got it on sale for £15 over the summer and had a where the fuck can I store this for 4 months moment 😂 dd2 then asked for the new sodding deer house which I had to stop myself buying on the Amazon deal for £21 this week!

Twitchintervention · 22/11/2018 11:44

Hmm I have been trying to pause and think and have definitely cut back in “toys” this year as believe it or not this list is a lot smaller than previous years, her list also included things such as hover boards, IPads, Popping slime unicorns which I have given a wide berth so didn’t think I was doing too badly...Blush

Know that the LOL’s and our Generation will definitely get played with and everything also I had put a lot of thought care picking things I thought she would love...

The enchantimal deer house is making me twitch as she has a woodland bedroom, loves animals and has a thing for reindeer!!! Confused

Twitchintervention · 22/11/2018 11:49

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts

It is the deer house and now gutted I didn’t see or buy it at the lower price!! 😬 Do you think It will come back down, I thought it was a good deal at £29

@DonaldDucksTowel so cool isn’t it, my DD too ever since the JL Man on the Moon Christmas advert was released!! 🤣 We have also bought some glittery wall sticker stars to put around it...think she’s really going to love it!!

What helps my twitch is to set aside some money for one last gift. I’ve finished shopping for the dc now, but when they/I take a fancy to something it goes on my list of suggestions for relatives. And close to Christmas I’ll buy them one last thing.
I just remind myself that they’ll only want something else if I buy this now.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 22/11/2018 16:36

twitch if it makes you feel better it was only in stock for a few hours. I was tempted in the morning thought all day went to buy at lunchtime and was out of stock. It may come down again though. Or if you want to get it buy at £29 and if it goes lower return the higher price one. Most places have an extended returns period this time of year if you change your mind. sorry I'm a terrible influence and am not helping

Twitchintervention · 22/11/2018 18:44

@nocutsnobuttsnococonuts

Let’s be honest I was never not going to buy it!!! Grin

Lovemusic33 · 22/11/2018 19:52

I’m trying not to twitch too, I have cut back on the number of gifts this year but have probably spent more due to dd’s being older. I’m now worried that it won’t look much.

Dd1 (14) is getting
Nintendo switch
2 Pokemon plushies
Sloth hottie
Large toblerone

Dd2 (12) is getting
Lego roller coaster
Pokemon card box set
Knitting loom
Slime
Poopsie slime (not the unicorn)
2 fake Lego sets from wish.

I usually buy way too much but I’m fed up of chucking things away and I find stuff in dd1’s room that she’s never opened. They only get cash from family and are both getting a couple gifts from their dad.

I will probably end up twitching 😐

MissLadyM · 22/11/2018 20:14

It's a good haul! If you can afford it, why not? I'm sure she'll appreciate it all and it's lovely that she's got such a caring mummy but she might get a bit overwhelmed if you don't stop soon!

MissLadyM · 22/11/2018 20:16

Shit! I want the moon now!

CantSleepClownsWillEatMe · 22/11/2018 20:34

If it helps Twitch we've gone a bit ott here too!

DD 9 this year isn't really into toys so much now besides one or two specific things whereas DS 7 is still quite easy to buy for just browsing Smith's toys. As a result his gifts seemed like so much more than hers even though the cost of his was actually a bit less.

While looking for more for DD we of course spotted things for both and, erm, bought them! It was really only when DH and I sat down together the other night and went through everything we realized we'd gone way over what we would usually have in mind. I worked out I'd spent over €100 on books alone! Of course he blames me and I blame him Grin.

Oh well. We're lucky as we can afford it, they don't ask for lots and I know they'll be thrilled with everything.

Twitchintervention · 23/11/2018 09:28

@CantSleepClownsWillEatMe

I’m glad I’m not the only one, we have 3 DC so REALLY should be reining it in, but there seems to be something wrong with my brain at the time of year where I have to purchase every passing thought that runs throug it!!! Grin

@MissLadyM I know, seen it on here too and thought I need to big that...JL must be loving NM’s this year!!
