MIL- v glam and clever. Still works FT at 75. I normally give her a cookbook or a scarf- she is hard to buy for as she has everything. I wondered about a pair of these little dishes for trinkets etc www.libertylondon.com/uk/malachite-small-dish-R144577006.html

Goddaughter is 7.5yo and quite girly. I like these little mice and they are the sort of thing that my DD would have loved at that age. But would most girls like them? www.libertylondon.com/uk/christmas-mice-in-book-R241837006.html?dwvar_000606631_color=99-ASSORTED&referrer=brands&listsrc=Maileg#ph=R241837006&start=1 Obv quite expensive for something so small but she is another one who has everything so I think small-but-lovely is the way to go.

My 7yo niece is getting a musical jewellery box from us.

The mice are cute but I think you could get more for your money. I always buy children books as they are bound to receive toys from other people. The dishes are nice if to her taste.

7 y/o 's are into SMIGGLE

I recommend the SMIGGLE memories scrapbook.

Offer them an experience instead of more things. Theatre tickets, afternoon tea, cinema trip. 7 year old girls would love the grown up ness of it all, and my MIL always appreciates a night out as she also doesn't need more stuff

A second the day out/ treat for dn.

There are a few miniature mice at the white stuff (and elsewhere) that are cheaper if you want to give her something to open.

Meileg mice are lovely, but I'm sure we spent much less that £45 on our dc's mice, that seems like a lot.

I think the malachite dish is lovely.

This is a sweet set which is a bit cheaper, I know my mouse-mad 8 year old would love it
