Stocking fillers for DH?

Haaaarrrryyyy · 20/11/2018 13:53

DH has never had a stocking. I hate this, it was my favourite thing that I spent too long opening and repacking as a child, and DM continues to do one for myself each year and I love it.
I can’t think of anything to get DH this year, he buys what he wants when he wants it, and despite asking him repeatedly for ideas he can not magic up one tiny idea for me. So I’m going to make a stocking for him, only I don’t know what to put in. I have a few chocs and sweets, but can anyone help? I don’t want to stuff it simply with bath stuff, I’d like it to be really exciting and full of lovely small presents (that I can’t think of!), please help!

I did this for my dh a few years ago when I found out he didn’t have a stocking as a kid. Here’s some bits that were in it -
M&S choc coins, tiny bottle of port, white stuff socks, paper aeroplane kit, comedy gig tickets for the new year, personalised leather keyring, smellies he loves etc. We still do stockings every year.

What about a scratch card, indoor fireworks, gloves, designer boxers.

PeonyTruffle · 20/11/2018 14:59

A wallet ninja!
I got DH's on ebay

DogMamma · 20/11/2018 15:05

i always do a stocking for DH, he does for me alongside our main gift, we usually put in the things we need like regular boring day to day underwear & socks, then other bits like favourite chocolates we dont have to share with each other & DSS, a book and/or CD we have been after but not got around to buying for ourselves, i always get a lovely candle, and some bath salts, without fail! he usually gets some new earbud headphones because he either loses them or breaks them, its never expensive stuff just little things to go with each others main gift.

lock picking kit? Dh really liked his, and keeps on about having it, and practising, but tbh I have had more fun with it.

I also got a couple of practice locks for him, and can open both of those. :o

I normally go pretty much entirely food and alcohol. He's much better at stockings than me though - last year it included a car air freshener with pictures of our daughter on and a little music box that plays the Harry Potter theme (apparently this was extremely cheap, he likes to yell everyone about his bargain).

LesAnya · 27/11/2018 12:34

I’ve got my DP

bottle of his favourite rum
New GOT mug that says “I drink and I know things” as he’s recently got a new coffee machine and now always has a mug in hand
A book
A roller ball thing for after he’s been to the gym

Also debating some little puzzle type things, although I do like the sound of the lock picking kit Grin. Will probably pick him up some bamboo socks/ new boxers at some point too.

iklboo · 27/11/2018 12:35

I get DH the Ladybird Books For Adults. They're really funny.

HeadsDownThumbsUpEveryone · 27/11/2018 14:16

I was also going to suggest a wallet ninja, its the one gift I've given that's still used weekly nearly 2 years later.

Not going to lie though I was also here to steal ideas, and a very intrigued by the lock picking set which one have you brought MrsMighty?

slappinthebass · 27/11/2018 14:51

Oh same same. After years of saying I miss having a stocking and hinting, last year I said all I wanted for Christmas was a stocking. I finally got my stocking... all was in it was different types of Reece's chocolate... my favourite, but lame effort really isn't it! I'm hoping he does better this year. Trying to remember what I put in his, think it was socks, Radox bubble bath, bar shampoo, toothbrush, Lush shower jelly, fudge, chocolate coins, chocolate orange, CD... I'm sure there was less boring stuff too.

catsofa · 27/11/2018 14:52

Me too stockings are the best bit of christmas!

Some handy little things here www.ebay.co.uk/sch/veryclevertogz/m.html?item=382641675758&hash=item5917389dee%3Ag%3AKFkAAOSwXitb9trl%3Ark%3A1%3Apf%3A0&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

slappinthebass · 27/11/2018 14:55

Chocolate coffee beans, box of coffee pods

Loyaultemelie · 27/11/2018 22:36

I got dh last year:
-Miniature whiskey set
-Toy helicopter (he had seen it on tv and kept saying wistfully dds would love it-they wouldn't)
-dash cam
-chocs
-socks and boxers
-Turkish delight

This year so far:
-whiskey miniatures
-liqueur chocs
-tractor dvd
-cheese (ordered not actually sitting in a stocking going mingy)
Just need something silly like the helicopter now

catsofa · 27/11/2018 22:38

slappinthebass I do my own, I chuck things in a while before xmas so there's some element of surprise as I forget exactly what went in it Grin

Loyaultemelie · 27/11/2018 22:38

Ooh might have to add a wallet ninja they look brilliant

slappinthebass · 29/11/2018 00:54

@catsofa I always say I will buy my own but never have the money left over... must try harder.

I saw cans of Duff lager in Lidl today in the specials aisle, individual £1.50 each. Thought it would make a good stocking filler for any Simpsons fan.

catsofa · 29/11/2018 18:18

Omg Duff lager is brilliant Grin. The Entertainer have Simpsons Tic Tacs which are pretty funny www.google.com/search?q=simpson+tic+tacs&client=firefox-b&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwinpKiHm_reAhUiMewKHZhbCVIQ_AUIBygC&biw=360&bih=512#mhpiv=1&spf=1543515437859
