Dd has asked for a HP sprocket, I had no idea what this is but a quick google says it's a printer for a phone...?

Has anyone got one and is it any good? Where's the cheapest place to buy?

I’m looking for one of these too. Cheapest place is amazon I’ve found, but I’m holding on on for an actual Black Friday deal.

It's a really fab little printer - I bought my DD one for her birthday. It connects via Bluetooth to her phone using a free app from the app store. She can print any photo from her phone that she chooses, she can edit the pictures, add frames, icons and text before she prints it out. It uses Zink premium photo paper. Be aware that when you first load a 10 sheet pack of the HP paper into the printer it has a blue cover sheet with a barcode which registers the paper to the printer. If you keep that sheet and place it on top of Zink paper from another manufacturer (LG, Kodak, Samsung) you can use that paper as well and are not tied to just HP paper. This means you can get some really good deals on paper, you will need lots! I got my DDs on a deal for £89 in the summer but Black Friday deals are on now so I'm sure you'll find a good deal somewhere...

Ggirl- can you connect it to normal cameras with Bluetooth? Or are they just for phones

@Ggirl27 thank you, that's really helpful. Will keep an eye out for a good Black Friday deal!

My Ds loves his too. He got his last year. Not used as much as I thought it may be but it is very handy.

Ggirl27 · 20/11/2018 13:34

@punkassmofo Not sure you would be able to as you need to send the photo to the printer from the Sprocket app...

Ooh I'm going to be on the lookout for one or two as well. They look fab. I'm a little stuck with what to get ds1 and ds2, but this looks fab.

I have one and love it! I'd recommend also buying a nice note book / scrap book to stick the photos in (did you know they are actually stickers?) And some nice pens to annotate with. Great gift!

Harry354 · 20/11/2018 21:29

Which type do you have? Seeems to be a sprocket plus aswell. Not sure if just a newer model.

Ggirl27 · 20/11/2018 22:37

Sprocket plus prints bigger images - we have the original smaller version - the paper for the bigger one is harder to get good deals on...

I've found this on John Lewis' website:

www.johnlewis.com/hp-sprocket-200-portable-photo-printer-limited-edition-gift-box-luna-pearl/p3821276

Is that a good price?

It’s similar to the instant cameras of yesteryear. Paper is expensive but it develops into the photo.
