Now.
Last year I was still having same day delivery from Amazon Prime on Christmas Eve Shock
Two weeks before.
I've already planned dinner and booked Ocado delivery for theee days before so if they have any no shows I have a chance to get them.
Tree goes up 1st December.

Presents wrapped a week or two before. Stockings filled on the night.

SoyDora · 19/11/2018 11:45

start buying presents? Started about a month ago, but only because I’m pregnant and due at Christmas so wanted to be organised this year. Normally December.
finish buying presents? Hmm... mid December?
buy, write and actually send Xmas cards? I don’t.
plan Xmas dinner? I don’t. DH cooks Christmas dinner but don’t think he ‘plans’ it. We’ll have a chat maybe mid December about what we want then he’ll go to the farm shop and order it. Usually fillet of beef for something.
buy Xmas food? We don’t buy that much extra. Meat will be ordered from the farm shop and picked up on around the 23rd. Will get veg from the farm shop around the same time. Usually order a dessert from M&S
put up your tree? Around the second weekend in December
anything else I've forgotten?

SoyDora · 19/11/2018 11:46

When do you wrap presents? Normally after mid December then they’ve all been bought. Will attempt it a bit earlier this year as massively pregnant

start buying presents?
Beginning of November, usually.

finish buying presents?
I like to have everything bought by the first week in December.

buy, write and actually send Xmas cards?
I buy my Christmas cards whenever I see some that I like (bought this year’s a couple of weeks ago). I’ll write and send them mid-December. (Only send about 10).

plan Xmas dinner?
I’m lucky, we still go to family so never actually cook Christmas dinner ourselves.

buy Xmas food?
I start buying as soon as I see it in the shops, can’t help myself!

put up your tree?
Usually the first weekend in December. It’ll be the 1st Dec this year!

anything else I've forgotten?
Wrapping! I love choosing my Christmas wrapping paper early, and I like wrapping presents around the beginning of December.

MaryDollNesbitt · 19/11/2018 12:46

I start looking out for present bargains around September/October to kick things off. I'm usually finished buying gifts by the end of November.

I buy cards in the January sales. Write them out towards the end of November and send them second class the first week of December.

My parents cover Christmas dinner, though I'll sit down with my dad and plan it all in mid November so that we can get our order forms in nice and quickly. This means we get a much earlier collection time come Christmas Eve, and can avoid the bedlam shops for the rest of the day! We put our turkey/nibbles order in this weekend.

We stockpile various food and drink throughout November/December to spread the costs. Any fresh bits (veg, nibbles, short shelf life, etc.) are bought the day before Christmas Eve, and the turkey collected early on Christmas Eve day.

Tree goes up on 1st December if it falls on a Friday/Saturday/Sunday. If not, it goes up on whatever weekend falls closest to the 1st.

I wrap presents as I go. I'd be sobbing into a bottle of Baileys trying to tackle it all in one sitting! Grin

DD's stocking is filled on Christmas Eve as soon as she's asleep Smile

BearSoFair · 19/11/2018 14:05

start buying presents? - Around October
finish buying presents? - Try to be done by the end of November

buy Xmas food? - The week leading in. Nibbles start a bit earlier.
put up your tree? - Approx 2 weekends before Christmas, so this year most likely 8th/9th.
Wrap presents - spread through December as I hate it and can only do 2 or 3 in one go before losing my temper!
Fill stockings - Xmas eve

Alanamackree · 19/11/2018 16:07

start buying presents? - all year round. I’ve even bought more than a year in advance, where I’d got a jewellery Black Friday bargain that was perfect for someone I’d already bought for.

finish buying presents? - mid nov. I’m on strike after that.

buy, write and actually send Xmas cards? - buy and write in Jan, send if I remember in dec

plan Xmas dinner? - anytime really. The actual menu doesn’t change much year on year.

buy Xmas food? - non perishables replenished oct/nov, fresh bought Christmas Eve as soon as shops open.

put up your tree? - early dec

When do you wrap presents? - as I buy them. Or if there’s a back log, a lazy Saturday in December watching Christmas movies and drinking Baileys.

I'll wrap them at some point after they all arrive.

Cards at same time.

Tree - not bothering (am enduring rather than enjoying Christmas this year Sad)

Food - I'll probably pick up some nice steak or similar the week before. Maybe a chicken. And I'll do trimmings because I like them as leftovers!
