Mulled wine

We are hosting a few times in December and I’d like some none alcoholic mulled wine for the drivers/pregnant friends/me.

Recommendations to buy or recipes please? Our local supermarket only seems to have boozy options at the moment Hmm

I saw some in M&S with no alcohol in, they've got quite a big non-alcoholic range from what I saw.

Ikea sells an non alcoholic version of glogg called Vintersaga.

Thanks both. Ikea is unfortunately an hour away so I’ll try the marks version first

How about warmed apple juice with cinnamon in? I have it from our local coffee shop and it’s lush (I sometimes have it with whipped cream on top too!!)

buy the mulled wine spices preferably without sugar and use either apple juice or grape juice to mull.

i have had the M&S version, and it's lovely, in fact I often get one of those, plus a real bottle of wine, slice an orange, find some cloves heat it all up and BINGO, minimal faffing and delicious mulled wine.
Can also vouch for the ikea version;

Bottlegreen used to do similar cordials too

Waitrose have the Belvoir non-alcoholic version in: spotted it today and wondered about stocking up as my dc both loved it last year (possibly not a good thing to have introduced them too... although they are teens not tots)

I also make apple tea which is nice apple juice, boiling water and a couple of tbs of ginger syrup from the jar that the preserved ginger comes in
...about 60/40 juice/hot water, but it does depend how sweet you like it, some apple juices are too sticky.

the children used to like it for drinking when they had a cold.

Aldi do a nice one too. I add orange slices and cinnamon sticks too.
For drinkers I put a wee bit of brandy in their glass too.

Lots of options to try. The apple juice based suggestions make me think of American style apple cider which I also like.

Guess I’ll just have to try them all Wink

Can't recommend on where to get but if you have a slow cooker do the mulled wine in there. Gorgeous smell in the house and you can just grab a hot cupful whenever you fancy :)

Lidl do a non-alcoholic mulled punch, it's with all the Christmas food. Or whittards do an amaaaazing mulled wine instant tea.

mybumpismostlypudding · 18/11/2018 17:18

Just FYI the Ikea one doesn't taste like wine, it's nice, but not like mulled wone! I've been having the Morrison's Eisberg alcohol free wine and then doing Jamie Oliver's mulled wine recipe 😍

*wine. Sorry, overexcited!
