Does anyone have the ikea wooden train set, or can recommend an alternative. It's for a nearly 3 year old but we don't want to spend a fortune!

I don't have the IKEA one but have one from asda which is good. Pretty much all wooden train sets are interchangeable with other brands.

We have the ikea train set OP. Very sturdy and affordable (at least when we bought it years ago!). I keep on adding to it. For the children of course Blush

I have a 10 year old Ikea one and it is still like new. The kids still occasionally set it up too!

We have a mix of brio (charity shop find) elc and Tesco. All interchangeable, the kids used to make the biggest tracks we also added some Chuggington trains - I don’t know if they’re still about

The IKEA one is great , though the trains are a little dull!

The ikea one is great. Probably the best quality track out of all the ones we have. I think the trains are perfect for a 3 year old- lots of scope for their own imagination.
