Amazon Echo Dots for kids - advice

I'm thinking of buying the kids an Echo Dot each for Christmas for their rooms. Can I run both Dots separately from one amazon prime account?

Yes you can, I have an echo and a dot. Echo in the living room dot in the bedroom. You give the devices names and they can call each other. Your amazon account can be linked to all kinds of smart devices. I recommend bluetooth speakers if they are going to play music as the dot speaker is only good for spoken voice, not music. If the bedrooms are close you will want to set one to only respond to the trigger word "Amazon" and the other to "alexa" as you'd be surprised of the range they can hear.

@LittleTechGirl do you mean the dot won't play music?

DD's dot is fine for music in her bedroom. Its not top quality sound but still loud enough

The dot plays music and is fine, not best sound quality, but is fine for a small room.

Can Alexa play Apple Music? Or do I get amazon music with amazon prime?

LIZS · 16/11/2018 17:18

She can be linked to Apple Music but not iTunes.,

Great thanks @LIZS that’s decided for DS then 😊
