IPod touch (or similar)?

Dd is 9 and has asked for a phone or a cat for Christmas.

She won’t be having either but I was wondering about an iPod touch.

She wants it for listening to music and stories on, playing games and having a nice case. No interest in social media but might be useful to have FaceTime or something.

I was hoping to find something for around £100. Reconditioned or something? Any ideas.

Look in game or CEX where you get a months warrantly

Some iPods are bent and the screens crack really easily or similar

IPod 4 generation would work well and within budget

Would an older one limit the apps and upgrades she could get? I know the older iPads can’t get everything on them
