Driving lessons for 15 year old

Car mad DS. He did a driving experience at Mercedes Benz World a couple of years ago but I would like if possible to get him a course of lessons this time as opposed to a one off (not MB world as pricey and an hours drive from us). Anyone know of anywhere NW London that does such a thing?

Thank youSmile

Would he not need a license? Or do you mean track driving?

Yes. Track driving or on a private road. MB World allow kids so ling as they can reach the peddles!

SLYDE do these but they seem to have changed their locations so you’ll have to google to check if they are close enough to you. They used to do Sittingbourne for instance (which would have been ideal for my DDs this year) but seem to be doing it at Bluewater now. They also do some locations in Essex which might be accessible for you. Think they do one day per month and you can book a session during that day for a period of time. So eg I’m looking to do one hour per DD per month for a year for DD1 as nearly 16 and maybe longer for DD2 who is 15.

www.youngdriver.eu/ do them. Not cheap though, but I think they sometimes do group on deals.

Thank you, I did look at Young Driver and was a bit shocked by the price! Fingers crossed I'll find a deal for Xmas, I recall the MB one being a special Xmas promotion. Will look at Slyde too!

My DS loved YD, (he's nearly 19 now and thankfully hasn't asked about driving on the roads for real. I'm holding off on that for a while)

YD near us was Bluewater and Lakeside but they stopped before Christmas because all the car parks were in use.
They are ££ but once you've been you'll get deals. We found 30 minutes was enough to concentrate.

The Instructors are brilliant and really good with young teens.

It is a heart bursting moment to see your teenager drive Grin

We used young driver - got a Groupon deal for £35. DS lived it!

We have done YD with Ds1 now 15. He has an hour long lesson and we chose 2 different venues, one was an old airfield so they get to go at speed, plus cones marking out "roads" and roundabouts.

The other location was in a car park meaning lots of tight turns like a normal junction. He enjoyed that one more as it felt more real with markings on the floor.

YD has early bird offers for 9.30am lessons.
