Good recipe for a gingerbread house?

Hi just wondering if anyone can help. I tried to make a mini gingerbread house but it wasn’t great.

The gingerbread wasn’t strong / crisp enough. It tasted good but I need structural integrity more than decent taste.

Does anyone have a foolproof gingerbread recipe for making houses. Or any top tips.

Thanks so much.

Construction gingerbread is different form biscuit gingerbread.

This is a brilliant recipe which I have been using for the past couple years...and it tastes amazing.

Thanks momin and so quick too.

I’ll give that recipe a go. I’m not actually bothered if it’s inedible - I just need the damn thing to stand up for more than a day.

I’ll have to convert that recipe to metric, it’s been years since I used ounces Grin thanks again

Check out Haniela's channel on Youtube. I used her gingerbread dough recipe for a house and it was very firm and smelt awesome.

I’ve used Mary Berry but only for a small normalhouse

I’ve made them with dc and I build the house around a clear plastic Tupperware box (you can’t see the box through the boiled sweet windows) but I believe that professionals use white chocolate in a cold room to glue it quickly and cover the seams in icing and use little triangles of gingerbread in the corners for extra strength.

I’ve always wanted to make a poncetastic scale model of our house in gingerbread but then we make do with the ikea kit!
