Urgent Christmas pudding question!

I'm doing a Christmas pudding in the slow cooker tomorrow but realised I don't have a pudding bowl. It's my first time.

Would it work in one like in the picture? Don't think it's an 'official' pudding bowl but it seems about the right size (I need 1 litre) and I like that it's got a lid as I will obviously be storing it for a few weeks.

Am in the shop, hence the urgency! Thanks Smile

I do mine in a bowl like that but don't have that helpful lid. - so I would say go for it.

Personally I would cook it without the lid though and use grease proof paper and foil as of usual, but thats just me

Ah, see that was what I was nervous about. If I do it your way, do I just keep the paper/foil lid on to store it and it will all be okay and won't go mouldy or anything?

Yes, that's fine. Cook it without the lid. Pleat greaseproof paper and tinfoil together, and use the tinfoil to wrap it all down over the bowl. When it's cooked and cool, give it a good feed of your chosen tipple, place a circle of fresh greasproof on the pudding itself, and seal with the proper lid.

Brilliant, thank you, I bought it.
