Anyone done a Santa train ride experience? I've just booked tickets for 1.

We have!

We go every year to Lakeside and Haverthwaite and it's great. 90 minutes on the train, carols, mince pie, sherry (if you like it!), and a really good Santa.

Our DC love it!

Yes. Ds loves trains and he is really interested in Christmas too, so a good combination! There's a bit of queuing though unfortunately.

We did NYMR last year and enjoyed it so much we're going again this year.

I don't remember any queuing. It was really well run.

We arrived quite early at the station, there were reindeer to look at, mince pies, fruit and drinks before you boarded.

The kids get activity packs when they board, very organised filter down the train to see authentic looking Santa, then the journey back after they've got their presents is quicker.

DS enjoyed it and so did we!

You don't go to meet Santa on the one we do, he comes through each carriage in turn.

The presents are mostly lovely wooden toys.

And no queuing here either!
