Camera for 6 year old

DS (6) has asked for "a camera that prints the pictures" I was thinking of getting him the Fuji mini instax, does anyone know if these are suitable for kids, easy to load etc? Or is there an alternative designed specifically for kids? Part of me thinks there must be and he's seen an advert hence the request!

He has the Vtech action cam and he loves it but I think it's being able to print the photos straight off that he's after.

Why not get him a camera photo printer then? Seems quite wasteful to buy a whole new camera just because it has the print function. I have the insta and whilst I like it the photo quality is poor for the high price.

I remember looking at these last Christmas and they had a great range in Argos

The Fuji instax is good fun but it works out very expensive and you go through them very quickly as there’s only 10 in a packet. It is a bit fiddly to load as you have to do it the right way and you have to take a pic before it starts printing them, but it’s not too bad.

Sorry I should have said the Vtech one he has is a tiny one that attaches to his bike/scooter/helmet (bit like a cheap go pro idea). He can't really use it to take snaps with, I mentioned it because it means I know a "proper camera" is something he will use and not just something he's seen on telly that will sit in a cupboard.

I did think a little photo printer that you attach a camera to might be better but I can't find one that would be suitable. I thought Vtech done one to go with their bigger camera but I can't find it!

I have the fuji it is so much fun. I'm in my 50's.

I took it to a family party a couple of months ago, the 6 year old was fine with it, the three year old found it OK once he got his finger to the button while looking through the viewfinder. He then explained to his grandmother how the paper comes out white but you have to wait for it to turn into a picture.

I was given the name, 'the magic lady' by the 6 year old.

Yes the film isn't cheap but you can search around on Amazon and ebay to get cheaper deal.

You can alsoi get black and white film and film with coloured edges.
